Servicing my vrs

Featured Replies

What does everyone recommend for a full service on my vrs shes just clock onto 108k :( and cam belt was done at 99k

Oil, oil filter, pollen filter, air filter, fuel filter.

That's what I'd say :)

Depends what was done past couple of years

When was the gear box oil last changed?

Full service means 'Full Service'. Or it used to.

Inspecting. Checking everything and Renewing & tightning and greasing

Change Brake Fluid, changing gearbox of diff oil, LSD correct additives etc

checking stength/change Anti Freeze, Brakes Checked or adjusted including hand brake, steering components, suspension components.

checking,Air Filter, Fuel filter checking and draining or replacing, checking and renewing and replacing etc etc.

Tyres, tyre pressures, wiper blades,

On a BMW they even replaced bulbs at 120,000 miles if the customer was happy with a £1500 Full Service bill.

Now it visual inspection Maybe,

Top up the washer bottle and oil the door hinges,

maybe the Oil and filter changed,

& charge for a Pollen filter even if never even looked at.

Where is pollen filter located and how gearbox oil filler and drainer ? H

In the p/s foot well next to the centre console and via 17mm hex on the gearbox top and bottom. Undo the top one first as if you undo the drain first and then find the top filler port is stuck you are in trouble.

Brake fluid, coolant and 2ltrs of G50 for the gearbox are the things that off the top of my head get overlooked as they are time based as opposed to distance. The gearbox fluid doesn't even appear on the service schedule but according to the analysis I saw on-line some time back you want to change it!

Good as a guide, but very out of date now.

If you're referring to my posting perhaps you'd explain which parts are out of date - AFAIK it's the same as the latest one I've had from the dealer, albeit I don't always get one.
