Whoop Whoop Fitting My Coilovers Tomorrow!

Featured Replies

Getting very excited about fitting my coilovers tomorrow, mainly because my suspension at the moment is shocking but also becasue I've never tackled anything as big as this before. Heading to a friends from Vec-C/Signum Owner Club for about 10 where he's holding an open session fix it meet these guys know their stuff when it comes to cars plus there will at least two trained mechanics to help out if needed. So just to confirm what I have bought and see if anything else I need to get last minute below is what I have allready:

Coilovers

Top mounts & Bearings

New nuts and bolts

Rear bump stops

Big can of WD40

Strut tool

Spring compressors

Trolley jack

Breaker bar

Various sockets and ratchets etc

Anything else any one can think of?

Looks like you've got everything covered.

Might want to book it in to a wheel alignment place next week too

Lol I know, I've studied it thoroughly and have a rough idea what needs doing.

have you access to an air ratchet/thumper/impact driver/whatever else they get called...!! for the top nuts on the front shocks???? far easier/quicker than undoing top nut with a ratchet for 1/2 hour or so trying to hold the strut :wall:

yup airgun all the way, think he is doing at a garage so they should have!

No air gun available as it will be at someones house but i've borrowed a battery impact wrench from work. The benefits of running a tool hire company :-)

battery impact wrench should be fine, i have one and have done top nuts with it no probs, only on a mitsubishi did i ever have any trouble as it was insanely tight!

I have tight nuts every now and then...................................................... (sorry, wrong forum  )

you need to give em a good wrench then;>

nice, looks like a good ride height for the car!

any bits you liked/disliked when changing over?

Front down another 5mm and it will be perfect! I like the nose down look

No bits I disliked and I loved all of it. Everything came off easy peasy. We even did the rears both at the same time. With breaks it took us about 4 hrs plus setting up after. So not bad really. I defo think the more needs to come down a bit more but will wait and see how it settle first.
