Hi folks, on my Yeti 2.0lt urdan it is fitted with the Amunsden sat nav unit. can you change the voice and turn the arrow pointer into a car like you can on the dash top Tom Tom units ? if so hows it done ?

In answer to your query on the data used by the RNS310 Amundsen.

I have opened the file structure of the new version 4 maps and there is no way to change icons or voices.

The operating files which are loaded when the CD is inserted are all in ".dat" format and although I can open these, they are all in non-discript figures.

I will make an SD copy and check again, but I am almost certain that the files will remain in the same format.

I will post my findings later

EDIT: Although when making an SD copy there are more files to open, it looks like it is impossible to change anything without a source code convertor, and I would think that will be closely guarded by Blaupunkt and Tele Atlas, the makers of the unit and software.

Do you think my April 2012 Urban will have the latest maps you write about ? how can i tell ?

Start the "NAV"

Press "SETUP"

Select the info section and it will tell you which version of map you are using, V3 (Apr 2011 - Mar 2012), V4 (Apr 2012 onwards). V4 is only a couple of megs bigger and both have 7 digit postcode entry.

What do Skoda charge for an updated map..not the usual £200 rip off I hope?

From the Blaupunkt online shop, £124 per CD set (CD1-UK, CD2- UK+Major roads Europe), from Skoda ???

Can't find site ...only blaupunkt direct uk which lists TravelpIlot disc which don't mention SKODA

Nav then Set up didnt show me the the v3 or v4 icon for the map in use told me i was 0038 Europe ?
