Maybe the OP was been wise and safe and had stopped and the handbrake applied before taking the pic!

Car bought in 2008 with 36K on the clock, for £6.5 K after a dismal Kia trade in, DMF went 2 months after.

So its had 1 full single clutch system fitted, and one clutch only

1 EGR valve

1 CV joint, and 2 CV boots

1 complete set of shockers

1 complete set of discs

1 camshaft and lifters

2 timing belts and 1 metal water pump

1 clutch master cylinder

1 set of glow plugs.

1 rear break caliper

Mods

Chromed internal door handles bought from a scrappy for £5.00

Leather interior bought for £400 if I remember correctly

MFD3 fully updated with new can bus

seat-belt chime deleted

both rear fog lights enabled

single door opening.

Light below is Break pad warning found that the cable has been cut as the connector has come out of its holder, next to the caliper, will be sorted next week when its in for a service

Its been serviced every 10K or nearly every 10 weeks

Mines not a Vrs but 473,000kms on a remapped PD140 DSG I think is something to be proud (and slightly astonished) about !!!

Not sure Mike,I can run it for another 4 years,if i want, I found a 59 plate Skoda Superb 1.9 on auto trader the other day, for £7495 with 56K on the clock, I looked again and refreshed the page, sold

I think mine is still worth around £1800 with the mileage anyone confirm that for me please

So you've joined the 200k mile club... Have you considered joining the mile high club too? :giggle:

Hopefully the CR engines will be as good as the 1.9PD engines. The Octavia is what all the taxi drivers use around here too, because that engine can go forever without much maintenance. There are a few of the Americans with over 200k on 2.0L CR engines, so hopefully the 1.6TDI CR can match it :)

Congrats anyways :)

That's great kms from a 2.0pd well done and just goes to show they are as good as the 1.9 :)

And the fact that my 2.0 PD140 has just joined the 150,000 club pales in to insignificance in comparison

Had to replace clutch & flywheel, turbo, a/c compressor, front coil springs (last week when one went boing) and not a huge amount more that isn't classed as regular maintenance.

I had the DMF done at 130,000kms under warranty, was replaced with upgraded part at the time. Its had two turbos, one under warranty at 130,000kms and one at 250,000kms(TurboTechnics,highly recommended)

Its the gearbox I'm most impressed with, I read somewhere that the life expectancy was about 400,000kms with regular 60,000kms services. I let mine go about 200,000kms without the oil + filter changed (Box) I got it done a few months ago when I realised I'd be keeping the car. By August I will have over 500,000kms on it.................a record for DSG,maybe ????

Mine has 45,600, not bad for a 6 year old, though I am itching to change, but finances currently do not allow (new garden just finished)

Nice to know that I don't *NEED* to change my car for a LONG time yet given my annual mileage of around 8K... I'd wager that my car will rust before the engine is used up, it's just the things like Turbo's and things that concern me :D
