I'm toying with the idea of selling my Fabia and getting something quicker that's petrol, I have no idea what it's worth. I've been looking on eBay and there is a few with 33k - 40k going for about £6500+. These seem to be garages selling though.

I know there isnt any financial gain by adding mods but it's got the following:

i advertised the wifes car on ebay a couple of weeks back and got offered £5500.....decided to keep it in the end.

her car is a Standard Black 2006 with 57k miles.

when we were looking for a vrs we avoided modded ones.....not everyone is going to be the same but it does put some people off.

I might try and remove some of the mods to sell but for some it just wouldnt be worth it. E.g springs would cost me £70 to the remove them and put old ones back on and I could sell them for much more second hand.

I just bought mine,

Bogo Standard silver 2006 VRS on an 06 plate, 30k miles, fssh, symphony cd player in good nick but no leather / heated seats with 2 months warranty for £6k.

maybe give it a try how it is now and if it doesnt sell then take some mods off.......from the spec it looks like it has all the best gear on it.

The problem you have is the mods put off mainstream buyers, that restricts a large chunk of the market. To the right person it's probably worth a bit more but half the fun in modification is making it your own, not buying someone else's take on things.

+1. My lad has modded his Golf which as you say is great for him but not neccesarily so for a majority looking for a more standard example. We found that equally when we sold our old mk 2 vw camper, as most buyers were looking for 'as original' as possible.

I guess I am tempted to split it now, I just have the fear I'll end up wanting to keep it half way through splitting! Lol.
