Henry's of Glasgow

Featured Replies

Went to Henry's today just to have a look around and met Graham Henry who was very pleasent (not just the type cast thought of how he should be) man. He came across to me as he had not seen the L&K before as the one they had had in he was not there at that time. Offered me tea/coffee, showed me his car as it also was in Steel Grey and stated that he really liked the perforated leather that comes with the ventillated seats as they give the seats a more polished look. Very nice show room and there was a large selection of new cars as they block order to try to ensure that as many customers have a choice with as little wait time as possible.

Quite impressed as I clearly was not there to buy anything but only to look around.

I agree, they are an excellent dealership. We have bought our last few cars (Skodas) from them, and we use them for anything that needs done (servicing, winter tyres, etc). Customer service is top class. Chalk and cheese compared to the BMW dealer one block down the road!

The dealership attitude that is reflected in the Driver Power survey results.

I had the opposite experience of Henry's

Went along to them last year around April with a printed spec for my new Skoda Superb.

.... Printed from Skoda's web configurator.

Lot of extras required, so total list cost of the car was in excess of £32,000.

No trade in ... cash sale.

On meeting their salesman I presented him with my specification, also asked him for a short test drive.

He said he had another appointment in about 1.5 hours so was not sure if you could fit me in.

Proceeded to show me the Superb in the showroom, wrong interior and exterior colour, no sunroof, no paddles etc. nowhere near the spec I required.... said I could have this one in a few days....did I really want a sunroof ?... DSG paddles I would never use. Proceeded to ask him some questions about the Columbus system, he gave me a load of waffle and kept leaving to ask questions from another salesman. Asked about the Kessy system I required... he said he had no idea, never seen it.

Said the spec I wanted would take more than a year to deliver !

Proceeded to take my details for a test drive, all the time saying he did not think he had time.

Finally I said to him, ok book me an appointment for a test drive and could he give me a cost for my requirements. He said "What do you want that for", my reply "to compare your costs with other dealers".... His response.... "If I spend time with you I fully expect to get the sale"

Needless to say I had a few short words for him and walked out.

Never has such a poor sales experience from any other car dealer.

Purchased the car to my spec from another dealer, delivered in about 5 months, very pleased with my Superb.

Will never return to Henry's

You should contact them and state your complaint. I know it will not make a difference to what you ordered but if everyone reported what the sales people did/did not state/provide the standard of all dealerships would improve. It will never improve unless feedback is presented and acted upon. I appreciate that there are two sides to a story.

Having spoken to Graham Henry I had the clear impression (albiet in a short time) that the service you received would have been acted upon.

Sadly the salesman is the face of the dealership. This is purely down to the dealer having the wrong process in place. The salesman should have listened to your requirments before trying to sell you the lower spec car in the showroom. In his defence all new car salesman are encouraged to sale the car that is in stock. It sounds like you have spoken to a saleman who is 'too busy' to sell cars.
