ultimate spec?

Featured Replies

Ok, for a bit of fun and to provoke some discussion, what would be your "ultimate" spec? Fantasy shopping if you like, best of everything or just a few mods you'd have in an ideal world..?

Some rules: needs to be an octavia, you can have anything you want, any option you'd like, plus add anything you fancy afterwards, brake upgrade, map etc. up to you.

The only restriction is that you must start with a new car, so full list price for the vehicle and options, and any mods need to be "real" (ie no flux capacitors!) and have a real cost associated with them

No limits on what you can spend, but it you should consider if it really makes sense - like sub-30k really. If you're car adds to more than that they you really should just buy an s4..!

Here's mine:

Car; vRS estate, TSI manual in candy white (still the best looking imo).

Factory options: curtain airbags, parking bleeps, heated seats, sunset, light assist, xenons, maxidot, mdi (I have all these options on my current car btw) but also add a sunroof, and the new black alcantara interior. Don't need leather and I would not pay £1600 for a columbus on principle. Price that lot up and it comes to £24,555.

Some cosmetic tweaks: skodatiele MF wheel, fiscon, audi knob & short shift, say £600 for that lot.

Some chassis mods: light wheels, say some Pro Forged 19x8.5 (8.5kg only each, so a 5kg saving vs. a neptune) and 225/35 19, TT wishbones, Autotech rARB, WALK and Bilstein B16 adjustable coilovers. That's a good start - should be around £4k for that lot.

Peformance: Not much I'd want to do here, just the APR TSI K04 kit, £2,398 from awesome (366bhp!) and how about some AP Racing 4pot brakes to make it stop, saves around 5kg per side too over the stock vrs brakes, £1800-ish.

Oops, broken my own rules already as that adds up to £33k so its a little pricey but should be a pretty nice car?

Anything I've missed? An awesome vehicle, or monetary madness? Discuss! What would you have?

:)

octy 1z with 4wd,subframes and v8 from an audi s5

What would you have?

A factory standard L&K, I'm getting old :giggle:

Shame they can't build a rock solid bullet proof cheap to service no engine gimics, decent MPG with toys.

I think the L&K 1.9 got close, 1.8 probably also close if you drop MPG requirement.

Problem seems to be we have to have all these engine regs, and the costs/pollution fixing the problems probably pollutes more than the simple well refined problem free engines that last for ever.

it's not all about performance, ultra reliable and comfort, using componants that have paid for their design so are cheap.

Mine, in order of importance

vRS

TSI

DSG

Maxidot

Alcantara Interior (not the standard one, red stitching)

Xenons

Rallye Green or another in Race Blue or even White.

Black Neptunes

Rear Sensors

That'd do me nicely.

Yes I don't really mind too much about the colour, but would have to be Green or Blue. Not fussed on cleaning a Black one. White would be nice too actually.
