VAGCOM

Featured Replies

evening all,

I picked up my new vrs at the weekend and i asked for the auto locking option to be turned on via VAGCOM which they did. However does anyone have a list or know what else can be done?

Thanks

Have a look on the Vcds /diagnostics forum section ;)

Yes it can be done with vcds only if you don't have auto lights it will do it all the time (instead of just when it's dark)

Word of warning;

I had Coming Home/Leaving Home enabled using VAGCOm a few months ago. Unlock the car, main lights would come on. Enter car, insert key, turn to preheat and lights would go off. Then start the car, and after starting I would manually turn the lights back on.

Coincidence or not, in a matter of 3 weeks both my headlight bulbs went. Talked to a few people, and after explaining the "Off-On-Off-On" behaviour, they said while normally it shouldn't cause a big problem, it might have caused old bulbs to fail.

I had it disabled, and invested in Philips Xtreme Power bulbs and Philips Daytime 4 DRL Daytime Running Light set. Way better option in my view. The Xtreme Powers are bloody expensive though, and I don't want to risk them going sooner because of CH/LH coding.
