Got my vRS remapped today, love it......

Featured Replies

I spent last weekend fitting a Forge twintercooler, Blueflame 3'' downpipe and decat, NGK BKR7EIK plugs, Neuspeed torque insert to my TFSI vRS, I already had a Carbonio intake and panel filter fitted,

Anyway took it to a very well renowned fella here in Ireland, Joe Power, to do a custom map on the car today, I'm blown away by the results!!

Initial reading of 204bhp from the first run, after the map it was a consistant 258/259bhp with a peak torque figure of 300ft/lb

The car is so different from before, it's hard to believe it's the same car....

Definitely something that every TFSI owner should get done!! Can't stop smiling

I've heard of that name before, what company does Joe work for/own?

Glad your happy, get it on a Dyno Dynamics RR and report back ;)

Joe works for himself, think he calls his company TDR performance,

He uses dyno dynamic RR

Here's a pic from today!

Ahh so it's a stage 2 equivalent, I must read more slowly. Yeah it should be about 260-265bhp ish from stage 2. On a cooler day you'll hit that I would've thought. Watch your clutch and enjoy :)

so what's the difference then between a 1 and 2?

The Downpipe but an intake helps quite a bit too.

A larger Downpipe allows the tuner to run more fuel, timing and boost whilst keeping EGT's cool.

Should the ecu have been changed as well?

Possibly different mapping for manual and auto?

I recently learnt from Awesome GTi in Manchester that the Carbonio Intake does absolutely nothing..No performance benefits at all...Just looks good

really!! not what their website says "Replacing the factory air box, this CAI kit gives a typical increase in torque of over 10% with an airflow increase of approximately 50% over the factory system. Comes complete with a full fitting kit."

Great sales pitch but utter BS I'm afraid!

@ OP, going straight from standard to stage 2 is defo the way forward, I was running stage 1 for over 2 years before I took the next step, besides the software being far superior, the car pull, like a frigging freight train, 4th gear from 60 mph is just brutal!

I have had the Carbonio for a while now, I was going to change it for something else before the remap but after talking to the guy who was doing the remap he said that, yea they aren't the best intake but they do help over stock intake. He reckons the ITG is the best intake for the TFSI, He said the Forge Twintake is overkill, causing the turbo to surge,

I'm delighted with the results, 259bhp on the Dyno on a day that was 25 degree's here in Dublin is not a bad return,

Glad you have got good results I have heard many good things about Joe seems to be dead on. Enjoy the new car feel mucker!

yeah, was trying to be sarcastic  ... looks nice but not as if you are driving around with bonnet up all the time

apologies to the OP... car sounds as if its got some good power figures... Stage 2 hmmm... maybe next year for me

What are the 0-60 times for stage 1 & 2?

Cheers

Pointless measure of performance, particularly with remapped front wheel drive cars like the vrs as you can't actually get the power down.

30 - 70 in 3rd or through the gears or 40 to 100 in 4th are better measures. My Revo stage 1 does the latter in 9 seconds, only a second slower than a Revo stage 1 Golf R.

Only hear good things about Joe. Must pay him a visit soon
