Isnt London city amazing for car watching!

Featured Replies

Driving down the A4 into the centre of london and then going towards Battersea at 10pm on Friday evening I saw the following exotica:

Ferrari FF

Lamborghini LP640

McLaren MP4-12C

Audi R10

& huge number of fast porkers

I was in wonder, especially whilst being dazzled by the bright lights...!

Also made me think (slightly irrelevantly and pointlessly) about the inequalities about it all. Most of the drivers were young too.

Obviously, Im not used to big cities!

You'll find a lot of "daddy's money" floating around London ;)

On the way out of Twickenham today, also on A4, saw a hideous Rolls Royce with awful oversized wheels. Reg was shown as: RO115 82

Clearly money cannot buy you everything!

AMG's seem to high up the list too

When I visit I stay in Kennsington (cos I'm dead posh like innit) Which you tend to very high end stuff, like this little italian number I'm stumbled upon in January

Especially certain diplomat's families ;)

For a real car spotting treat without having to search far and cheaper than going to a car show,

try an Airport multi story car park.

Forget the Quick Parking etc and go to the Disabled Bays (easiest and quickest for the lifts) where the wealthy just park their cars knowing that if they get moved, it will be to a safe spot. (also where the Security keep their special look out, for a little thank you, maybe!!)

Often the Car Parks having a sprinkling of the newest vehicles that may not even be on public sale yet.

£6.50 is well invested at Glasgow or Edinburgh short term parking to have a little drive around the levels,

you get to know where there are cars left ready for Journalists and road testers flying in to take them up north.

Some cars are obviously hard used and dropped off to be collected again,

and some i see sitting for several weeks in corners or less obvious bits like the very middle.(really)

UK Recession and austerity, what recession? thats just for poor people!

When i am in Knightsbridge i do love looking at all the supercars and on Youtube i watch clips of them.

In. Cumbria on Sunday, there was a group of supercars out for a spin.

Some Murcielagos, Ferraris and a stunning cherry red MC12. :)

This reg number is not existing. 2 letters and 5 numbers in the UK? This is impossible combination.

Could be dateless... some older numbers don't adhere to any standard.

Perhaps he got it slightly wrong

In Westminster yesterday... lost track of the amount of Bentley Conti GTs I saw. More common than the Focus in those parts. Tonnes of expensive Mercs and BMWs. Smattering of Ferraris, a Cayenne GTS tucked up in a garage (barely fitted in the garage!).

Couple of months back... surveyed a building in Wandsworth that will be the new Ferrari garage there. Massive, too.

Where I work in Islington there's a college for foreign students next door and one kid gets dropped off and picked up in a brand new Porshe Panamera Turbo every day. Clearly a driver and not his dad either. I guess he can't afford the tube fare :giggle:

Audi R10

So exclusive there are car models that don't even exist. ;)

custom one off bruv

Those FF's are pretty big! If thats the same one that drives around all the time. I too have spotted that! Bentleys are very popular too. :)

I think the exclusivity gets lost around London though because there are so many nice cars around! But you'd feel safer to drive these cars around here and park it, rather than going out of london and parking it in a shoddy area. but thats rare!

Best time/place to see cars in London is around Marble arch / Park lane in the summer, Its when the Arab boys come over to show off, saw Enzo, SLR Mc(chrome and matt black) and a few Lambo's all in one day!

Did also see a FF in my local tesco, which was a bit of a suprise :)
