How do you Enable MFSW control for bluetooth

Featured Replies

Went over to Trundlenut's place today to try and get the MFSW controls enabled for a bluetooth unit I got from carsystems. Only functionality I believe it can enable is the answer and voice dial from the volume control wheel.

After playing around for an hour Trundlenut got the unit to be recognised but could figure out how to enable the button. Kept coming up with an error (open circuit I think).

One problem could be that there are two ways to wire up the mic (voice or no voice dialling). When I fitted the unit I left the wiring as it had come which was with to loose connections. This may be the problem but I really don't want to waste any more of Trundlenuts time by going back just to experiment.

Does anyone know the coding info needed to enable this functionality?

He managed to set up the anti hijack locking, auto unlock on key removal, unlock/lock beep and single tap to unlock all doors. But the bluetooth just wasn't happening.

Big thanks to Trundlenut for all he has done, hopefully someone else will be able to provide the guidance to sort the problem out.

Dropped you a PM with a few ideas - the problem could be with the steering wheel coding.

Has anyone actually got this to work yet. I have spent quite a bit of time trying to sort this out via VCDS. Everythings else works a treat other than said function. I added 77-telephone as this wasnt in my common list which i did by putting a tick in the can gateway list.MFSW option is also set and coding changed which i think was in central Convenience

I notice on the Octavia guides it mentions going into16-steering but this is not in the installed list. Any idea?

Hi has anyone had any results on this. Got my module installed, now just trying to figure out where to activate the steering wheel now! :-)

Instructions are in Swedish but the vital parts are in english.

This is ok if you have the head unit as described. With the standard radio there is no navigation Gateway in the list. Unless you can tell me different. Still stuck.

And I suppose you've already checked under "radio"..?

Yes i have . The can gateway can be added for Navigation but its not going to find it without the unit. You sound like you know better so it may be worth posting how.

'Radio' and 'navigation' contain pretty much the same tick boxes. Changes in one automatically effect the other in the same way.

It would be worth another look.

Yeas it might be worth, but it is like fumbling in the dark as I'm not aware of your car conf.. So I'm giving qualified guesses.. google, vwnavi and vwvortex are great places look into..

However.. Shouldn't be needed to tick navigation.. I've done the same thing to my fabia, but I changed my swing for a columbus unit.. As I don't have my vcds cable at home now, only places I could think of are central electronics (09?) and/or radio.. But it really depends if you enabled voice control for Bluetooth in 77. Need to find the PTT setting if voice control is enabled in 77...

Did you get this sorted?

Could you let us know how if you did?

And also which steering wheel and controller you have fitted so that it can help me in my quest for a fully functioning MFSW.

Thanks.

Had no luck with mine. MFSW is ticked PTT is ticked and virtually every option. A number of people who have retro fitted the unit with the swing radio are in the same boat and have no voice activation viaa steering wheel. Everything else works as it should.

Can I just check I have this correct - the only thing that doesn't work on the MFSW is the ability to press the mic button of the steering wheel and make a call via voice command?

Which MFSW did you fit? (Picture if possible).

I didn't fit a different steering wheel as the Fabia 2 vRS has one as standard (or at least my 2011 model does).

OK. Does that mean your wheel only has controls on the left for controlling stereo as you retro-fitted the BT module (which when factory fitted would be matched with a steering wheel with controls on the right also, I guess)?

there are no buttons on right side of the fabia mfsw

below are my settings, although I have a columbus installed and not a swing anymore.
