Size of garage needed for Superb

Featured Replies

To save myself the trouble of measuring can anyone tell me the minimum size of pre-cast garage needed to house a Superb with enough room to exit through the drivers door - I am average build.

Skoda Superb Estate 2.0 TDI CR 170 Elegance 5dr

I have the Superb Elegance Combi.

Garage length 19.5ft. Width 9.8ft. Front end has two Tool chests 14" deep. This gives 14.5" walk space at front. 18" walk space at rear. This also allows the boot to open with plenty of clearance. Garage door 7ft 10" wide.

Dimensions also allow enopugh door opening both sides for good access.

Both walls of garage have thin white plastic skirting board applied at the height the doors would touch the walls, this is two lengths each side, easy to fix with no nails and ensures no chips on door edges.

That is a double garage and who puts their car in a garage when it is only a single garage.

I wouldn't call a 9'8" wide garage a double when many cars are now in excess of 5' wide. What Briskodian has is a King size single suitable for some of the top end cars such as Bentleys and Lambos or old barges such as my Riley with suicide doors. My garage is 9mX5mX3m and I can just move around it with the Superb Combi, Citroen C3, BMW R1100RT, Aprilia RS250 and spare Riley engine  plus 2 push bikes all tucked in.

I have never put my car in the garage (not even the wifes Yaris) what with all the "other" items in it already.

I wish it was a double garage lengthwise at least :wall: , when using my inspection pit I have to have the vehicle halfway out the door.

As one Briskodian member said regarding types of vehicle, it was built as large as possible on the site and was intended for the Bentley S1 Copntinental and similar.

I am now waiting to see the 2013 models as my Combi is now 18months old and starting to look for replacing.
