Roomster 1.9 Tdi ABS Light on...HELP!

Featured Replies

Hi Chaps (and chapesesses!). As i type this i am also using my other hand to tear my hair out over a problem i am having with my 2006 (56) Roomster...or rather my wife's Roomster (it is only mine when it goes wrong!).

Simptoms: Wife tells me that on a run to Grantham on Tuesday she noticed the brake peddle was "kicking" and the yellow ABS light was on shortly after.

On return home from a hard day at work i get to (more) work removing the front wheels to check the ABS sensor leads...they both appear to be fine.

Recent service history of the car:

over the last few weeks it has had console bush on passenger side replaced and new front and rear brake pads.

The problem developed over a week after the last work had been completed.

Local machanic tried using his ODB handheld (not the VAG one) and it came up with no logged errors. I used a friends Bluetooth OBD using the torque Android app and it too came up with zero errors...although i swear that a message about wheel communications flashed up for a couple of seconds before vanishing...and not in error log!.

Really need some help here guys....please ! :-/

Many thanks in advance. Andy

What's your location? Is there someone close by who can scan it with VCDS/vag-com for you?
