Slight Water Temperature Rise

Featured Replies

Hi y'all

I noticed the water temperature gauge was indicating slightly above normal on my way to work this morning.

It normally sits happily at dead on the middle of the gauge, pointing straight up, but this morning it was slightly to the right of that point, kind of pointing at 12:30, if you know what I mean.

Anyone reckon I should try checking anything when I next drive the car? For all I know it could be back to normal when I drive home again...?

Cheers

Might just be because it's so hot down there, though I would expect the cooling to take care

of that. The slight variation makes me think this is a possible scenario, or it could just be your

temperature sensor's on the way out (it has been known... ;) )...

Could be Rob - The car itself was accelerating / running as per normal.

Well, the 40K service is only 6 weeks'ish away so I'll bring it up then if it reoccurs.

I had a similar experience with my Fabia Tdi a couple of weeks ago.

Returning after a fairly long run, I noticed the coolant temperature was showing higher than normal. It didn't rise any further for the rest of the journey home, just stopped at a slightly higher than normal level.

At home, I checked the coolant level, but it was ok, so no leak.

I've kept a close eye on it since then, but it's stopped where it usually is - bang on the half-way mark.

Has anyone else had this?

Regards,

Yep - my little blip in the temp reading has not happened again, so I'm putting it down to a one-off little mood-swing from my car - just like when half the dash lights went out one evening, and nothing was wrong with any fuses. C'est la vie.

Sounds like the car's possessed mate! :D

aaah skodas good to know vag group has not got rid of their soul (sorry just finished 7 nights feeling a bit bizarre)

25 hours till i get my fabia :) :)
