Bet everyone on here knows more than their dealers about what models are being launched,variants,prices etc. Don't skoda liase with their dealers in a proper fashion or something ?

Whilst helping my stepfather sign up for his new octavia elegance he seemed to be adding everything to the car from the spec sheet.I simply asked about the L & K version thinking that might make a better choice.I asked was it available and what would you get?

They new nothing except to say" maybe the end of the year" (the expression said ' I know bugger all')

Asked about the sport.They knew bugger all.As boon mentioned on another thread, the same garage is sending out leaflets the very same week suggesting these cars are on sale (I know the sport is by the fact some of you lucky sods have ordered ) ........ leaflets about cars they know nothing about :eek:

Must admit it has annoyed me somewhat as has skodas somewhat secretive approach to most things (vRS,why??)

So is the flipping L& K out and has my stepdad wasted a shedload of cash making an elegance into an L&K wannabe :confused:

Pull yourselves together skoda.Please .Comes across as very amateurish when the public know more than the garages!

I have been saying that since I signed here.

My local dealer asks ME for any news when I take my car in for servicing, as the press get info before the dealers do.

It is a shocking state of affairs and I am amazed that skoda have survived, given the the access to information people have now.

Skoda UK appear to be stuck in a time bubble, ( 1970's) when there were no mobile phones and internet was still an idea, the main medium of communication is still FAX.

BTW, While on the subject of time bubbles , any Skoda sales here ? Why is it my local dealer only has 56K Dial up access to the Skoda Intranet, and car orders access ???? as this would be the prime place for the dealer to gain 1st hand knowledge, and not embarrasing 2nd hand info from customers.

( We know you are watching Skoda UK ).

Have to say most are not on the game, when mine went into it's first service the dealer was chatting to me about the cars and the styling bits added. His customer wanted some bits for his new Octi.

On the other hand some dealer get targets to reach to sell different trims so maybe that's why they didn't own up to knowing anything about the L&K

Hope to launch a dealer initiative this year. The aim is to promote good understanding from all parties, for customers demands & trends, technical issues, good or bad service and hopefully sell a few more cars for them.

If any dealers are reading this, then our work is already beginning to have an effect, perhaps you agree?. Can't put a direct figure on the number of sales, but the site is helping to get a few of the ground, of that I am sure. We want to work closely with dealers all over Europe (it's not just a uk site ) to promote the enthusiasts side of car ownership.

I agree the unknowns, maybe are more damaging than the flat no it's not comment.

We'll do all we can to help from the information that we can source from around the world.

If you'd asked Skoda CS you might have got something like the following which is an extract from their email 21 March. I have also pasted in a copy of the info. sheet included with their mail for you.

"I am pleased to confirm that the New Octavia L&K is

available to order now.

Whilst the brochures are currently being printed, I

I'm doomed to fantasy speccing till at least xmas.Maybe by that time they will have one of each in the showroom and I can take the sales man round them and tell him all about them and point out which one is which.Should have your review of the sport by then as well.Will give him that to help his sales patter
