joe_vrs_tdi, turbo blown, a few more questions

Featured Replies

I used a bleed nipple tapped into the top hard plastic pipe mate, worst part is the faff involved in running the boost line behind the dash

That's a good choice of turbo tbh, you don't want to be replacing it again really soviet should last you!

it will either be that or the 130 as you mentioned, this is actually a tad cheaper but i dont know how long the discount is going to run for.

i think that turbo, decat, egr delete, the intercooler pipes that i havnt replaced yet(pancake and top pipe) with a subtle custom map keeping the boost under control and torque down and maybe having to replace the black vacuum box i will be on to a winner. Then clutch will be replaced and bigger brakes and maybe a tweek on the map as i will upgraded whats needed for 300+ torques.

They had none listed when i checked wednesday it was first place i looked rich as i remembered its the place you went. Yours up and running proper yet mate?

Try email or ringing him mate ill send the details over pm. And sort of. Boost when it likes because my map is messed up. Saving for my forge ss intercooler atm then i should be running good and proper!! Gutted to see yours go pop mate :(

I used a product called jizzer its a degreaser basically but it works! But the car will smoke like mad for a few miles mine did while burning the excess oil away.

Hey all, finally decided on a pd 130 hybrid now but i have a few question before starting the job.

What do you find the best way to get access to remove the turbo and down pipe and any tips for doing the job?

Also started stripping the intercooler for cleaning and when I removed it there was lots of bits of metal in there, Im guessing this is the turbo internals left overs? But is this going to of damaged my intercooler? Im also worried that even after giving it a good clean that some parts will be lodged in there and then work its way loose. Plus what else good of the turbo shards damage and should i look for anything?
