Hi, I have started increaing the performance on my Faia. It is due in next week to get improvements made to its handling. Currently it runs at 175bhp by Angel tunning. It has a panel filter and PD 160 air intake. The rest is standard. I would like to do some improvements to the exhaust and if I go for a PD 130 turbo a stronger clutch. Looking to run about 200bhp.

I am no expert at all so over to you guys for what should be done first. It will be done as money comes in. Thanks

To get near 200bhp youd be needing a FMIC. . .

Take it you mean pd130 hybrid?. .

Maby an exhaust, but I've read on here the standard will take upto 190bhp'is. . I may be wrong but read it on here. .

Also is the 175bhp proven?. . Generic maps rarely have what the tuning company's quote.

Also,

clutch and flywheel

turbo

exhaust

FMIC . .

looking at probs 3k there easily. . .

Thanks guys. The 175 is not proven not been on a rolling road, but an old ralley car driver took it out for a spin and was amazed at the pull of it. I think I will do the exhaust first and gradually upgrade. I know it canturn into a money pit but its better than driking, fags and bookies.

Could see if you can pick up a PD150 turbo cheap, run it at 190bhp on a custom map, run a stock clutch on a torque limited map? Or a all out map on a uprated clutch (keep the dmf). Anything more than that it`ll be a case of many monies as above.

what clutch would you recommend for 200 bhp and is the 150 pd turbo a straight swapover?

Depends how you want to use it. There are a few people using a stock clutch at 190-200bhp without issues but i`d personally go for a sachs uprated clutch, you can map it a bit more aggressive with the torque figures and not be too worried about launching it.

Your gonna need better tyres to help put the power down, 312mm brakes and maybe a RARB and upgraded suspension. As I'm guessing you want to get around corners :-)

As Dark_Hero said, seeing as yo uhave a remap already, maybe consentrate on keeping it on the road.

JOM Coilovers (£175)

312's (£110) (I just bought some Octavia vRS calipers off ebay for £32, +£42 for and £25 for pads)

RARB, I maybe wouldnt bother with the coilovers on it, it wont roll much anyway.

HTH,

D

Good point made by dark hero & lofty, you`ll make the car quicker with chassis mods before more power if your stock.

The car is going in for suspension and handling work on Tuesday. I will update once that is done. The car has only done 55K so I may end up just sticking at what I am currently at but with improved handling. At what powere level would you need a front mounted intercooler.

At what powere level would you need a front mounted intercooler.

Anything above what you're running now really.

Going beyond a stage one map would really need a fmic
