Power Cuvre Programs

Featured Replies

Hey guys a while back I saw a post on a forum which for the life of me I can’t find again :/ but in the post people were talking about a program that you plug you VAG com cable in to the car while its running. So when you boot it power curve graphs Ect are produced on the program. So essentially it’s a live monitoring program. I’m just wondering if anyone knows of the program or program like it as it would be quiet interesting to have a go.

Many Thanks

James :)

Anyone?

Just use vag-com and log channel 20. It gives you Nm output.

Then open in excel and convert Nm into bhp and plot a graph. Standard max diagnostic out is 410nm. But this can be changed in the map.

many thanks will give that a crack :)

Rough conversion rates are:

kW power = (Torque (NM) x RPM) / 7121

To get HP, just take your kW reading, multiply it out by 1000 to get your watts, then divide that number by 745.7.

So:

HP = (kW x 1000) / 745.7

Should roughly give you what you want.

So you need to measure torque (NM) and RPM - and you should with the power of maths be able to get some rough estimations of power/torque graphing over the rev range. Just re-do the sum for every 500 rpm.

Couple of way. I use

(Nm x 0.7376) x rpm / 5252 = bhp

The first bit converts Nm to lbsft.

Channel 20 logs Rpm and Nm.

Best logging in 3rd or 4th from 2000rpm (or below) to 4500rpm.
