stall, flashing glowplug light, brake lights are ok, any ideas?

Featured Replies

as above, garage said computer highlighted a exhaust temp sender as the fault so replaced it (£90)but its happened again. Only happened 3 times so far but troubling, engine dies immediately after firing up,then starts fine but with glowplug warning light flashing continuously. Have seen many mentions of brake light switch faults but brake lights are fine, checked whilst warning lamp flashing too.

Doesn't appear to be affecting the performance in any way..garage said they will relook at it but i can see an endless, expensive replacement schedule ahead to try and resolve it..

engine /age/mileage would be helpfull

ah yes, of course, 02 reg fabia, 1.9TDi, 91k miles

I assume it's not a PD engine but would be interested to know what an exhaust temps sender is----anyone? you really need someone one here with vag-com ther's a list somwhere here but it may well just be awireing fault

Are you able to get the error codes?

I'll hate to state the obvious but....

had to chuckle at the last reply....i'm assuming the garage ruled out the glow plugs...what is is they say about assuming lol...keep meaning to take it back to garage but never have time..and yes Cheshire cat it is a PDengine..as far as I am aware

Where are you based?

I would get a cheap code reader to read the codes on the ECU. Then we could give you more help.
