And i hopefully should be picking it up with a wee bit more power

Revo stage 1 + SPS box

Ordering either an ITG maxogen or a BMC oval air box prior to getting remapped friday!

Got a real good deal offered to me and i couldn't turn it down :giggle:

Mike

Is that a plug n play unit?, so when you go to dealers you can remove as warranty issues, I've been looking at the tdi tuning box £280

Come over to the BMC club its rather lonley over here :(

So Mike........verdict?

So Mike........verdict?

Id imagine the result is hes a very happy man, that wished he'd done it sooner. Thats the normal verdict.

No seboni it's a ecu map. I have just purchased a box that enables the user to switch to a "standard map" setting so it can be taken in for warrenty work if needed. Also as the tuners are <1mile from my house if I'm that bothered can have it flashed to standard before going to a dealership. Also for extra confidence have rang some of the remap friendly garages to check they will accept the car in for warrenty if all else fails.

Vrs powered sorry this is the Friday coming! :-) as there's a full 30 day money back guarantee I was happy to do it to test out. But as with last time I went away with that big of a grin I didn't want it back to standard.

I'm currently hunting down a bmc ota (oval trumpe airbox) a the dime Simons allow it to be piped in to the existing cold air feeder scoop. I'm looking at bmc cda"s also as I want a milltek or Jetex exhaust on this soon aswell.

I hadn't done anything sooner as having a new gearbox at 900 miles meant I wanted to let this one be worn in. So just approaching 3k now it's time to unleash the potential.

Ok nearly there just awaiting prices of the spark plugs revo recommends. I have asked them (Keith Edwards motorsports) to try the oem ones first to see if needed. As I have read some poeple running stage 2 on cupra.net with oem plugs and haven't missed a beat yet!

Ok for now we are going to try it mapped with oem plugs Friday. As a.) cars never miss fired once since ownership on oem plugs and b.) the fact that revo haven't been clear on the plugs my tuner needs to use. I have said however if it does (fingers crossed it doesn't) miss fire after the map I will order the ngk ones outlined on this site and they will fit and gap them for me. Touch wood should be all fine.

How many miles have you done on this set of plugs?

2810 pitbull

I suffered no problems until 7500 miles on standard plugs with tbe and Itg.

Make sure you have the latest plugs if you want to stick with oem but remember the guy that blew his engine was because his spark plug over heated and the tip broke off burning a hole in the top of the piston. For the sake of a few quid for different plugs it seems silly not to as your running the risk of needing a rebuild at alot more money.

ill get them ordered then i think on that advice, just to double check what do you go for the NGK brk7eix 2667? are these the ones with the gap of 0.7mm already? thanks

Bet you're excited now Mike ;)

Getting there  got my sps box now just to drop it off friday and pay the men!

Any issues and ill use the 30 day money back guarantee if needed, which i'm sure (touch wood) i wont have to and ill be happy driving off into the sunset... whinnneee purrrrrrr tisssss :sun:

You won't regret it

Revo recommend bkriex7s

I currently have bkriex8s gapped at 0.65 all indexed

Vrsy is running bkriex9s gapped at 0.60 if I remember rightly.

When I was at Revo HQ for stage 2 they said the reason they didn't recommend the bkriex8s is because they may cause ruff idle on cold starts but I've had no problems with them all winter.

Hopefully sy will be along and review the 9s

Im running the BKR9EIX because on the high boost maps(im talking 1.8bar) we were getting a misfire at the redline.  We thought it would cure the misfire, but it didnt, tbh, when i replace them i will be going for BKR8EIX on mineWhat do you mean by 0.65 'All Indexed'??

0.65 gap and I've indexed the plugs. Talking maybe 0.5bhp gain but just to help stop misfires.

By indexing I mean I've made sure that when tight all the gaps on the spark plugs face the intake manifold.

Little of topic but have you thought about an ignition booster?? Same sort of effect as them plasma coils but at alot smaller price.

Oh, on cupra.net people are saying brk7's with a gap of 0.7mm which they go on to say is what these sparks plugs come with the gap set at? :-S confussssed

The dealer has ordered me the upgraded spark plugs, do they also need to be aligned as yours are pitbull?

Not atall mate. As I said maybe 0.5 bhp gain. Only makes a difference when your pushing massive power like 700/800bhp but I've got the bits to do it so may aswell.

7s are what Revo recommend standard is 6. Mine came gapped at 0.65 and this gap works perfect for me.

That was me with the blown engine due to spark plug failure around christmas time, without remap, completely standard after 7k on the clock..was gutted, however new engine fitted covered 5k now and hasn't missed a beat since.. Touch wood =]

I'm running BKR8EIX on the TMC box.

No real issues apart from the rough idle and a slight misfire when setting off straight away when its cold, but I had exactly the same thing on standard plugs.
