Will tell you tomorrow how I get on plus a write up of my first impressions. Like my mk 1 it took a small while to "bed in" and the ecu to fully adjust I found. So will see after a few days how it is.

we discussed this...... can I ask:

has ANYONE had (constant, not the odd intermittent) misfire problems on a car that hasnt been modified?

I did but it was a broken MAS sensor cable which was triggering them apparently (whilst stock a while back).

Nope mine is fine. 8k in and nothing really to report. When it starts in the morning it runs a little rich but that only because the choke (or whatever the equivalent is now) is on making the revs a touch higher. That's it really. Gonna check my oil today to see if it's used any. Used very little the last 2 weeks I've checked

I did on my Scirocco (160PS version of the same engine) only after it had its first set of plugs changed at about 37k. Got through about 4 or 5 sets of plugs (plus a piston and cylinder head) before VW specced the right ones (that come in the engines from the factory..) as service items. Aside from that, not a whisper.

So no, not really...

Car wasn't done :-/ apparently they had ran into some difficulty accessing data needed prior to remapping E.g data logging as stock. Then by the time revo had got back in touch with it was mid noon. Also the new sheer bolts they had ordered for the ecu hadn't arrived :-( need to make another date and hopefully will be done then.

Options are, drop it off tomorrow and get it done or bottle it and be a wet one! Hmmm

I'd say wait a week, Revo might announce an offer just before/on GTI Weekend and last year they extended it to all dealers in the UK

I spoke to a few dealers for a quote and they all said "£399 total price inc VAT". Maybe some sort of VAT-free offer on at the moment? Very tempting!

Haha! I'm two minds, one part is thinking bah! Doesn't need to be this quick was nice standard. Other half is thinking ohhhhh hell yeaaaaaa!!

On a serious note this has completely transformed the car, it's pull in 3rd gear is ridiculous. Car drives nice and smooth, no misfires, puts you back in the seat when hoofed! The nice lads at the garage realised I had very little oil :-/ (sure I topped it up recently) and banged a litre in. So current oil usage for me is 1250ml/3000miles, Sps box is set up all ready and the cars a weapon! Still going to keep my 30day money return guarantee close incase I find it's too much and prefer miss daisy.

Not sure powered, I'm loving it don't get me wrong. My engine is young so should be gentle with her :-) but suppose JBoy got his mapped straight from the dealers or something like that haha!

Total cost £460 inc vat for 4x ngk irridium plugs, 1 x revo ecu map, setting up of already owned Sps box, 1 litre of vag recommended oil and all labour included. Some other tuners offered me it at £399+vat+£50labour+cost of plugs
