dump valves. should I recirculate or blow off?

Featured Replies

I'm convinced my diverter valve is playing up leaking boost. So was looking at metal upgrade and fancied the blow off type for the noise ( I know, at my age I should be over things like that but hey, I'm human and petrol head) I have heard though that blow offs can salve the turbo and that I should stick with recirc type.

There is a recirc type on ebay just now quite cheap ( used) but says it has lost the blanking plate to make fully recirc. but doesn't loose boost like a forge? Any good.

Just wanted advice on what route to take, mines the 150bhp ARX 1.8t 4x4 standard I think, but would like a 200bhp remap soon.

Recirculate u still get a woosh sound and if u want it louder just stick a induction kit on

True. These cars don't like BOVs and log fault codes if you fit one.

Sweet guys, not sure about the one on ebay with blanking plate missing then as don't want any issues. I've also read the original is prone to failure to. So upgrade seems the way to go. Also replacing n75 too as precaution.

My vRS came with a Forge DV.

Am I likely to be losing boost, and how would you know if it was?

Hi, don't take this as gospel. It's just what was said on an eBay advert for another valve which made me think, as I assumed Forge where the muts nuts.
