2007 '07' Hybrid Ibiza FR TDi

Featured Replies

I know its not a Skoda but still falls under the VAG group so forgive me!

I've reached the decision it's time to sell up my little Ibiza, I've owned it since August last year and in that time have poured a lot of love and money into it! The ONLY reason I'm selling is I've got my silly hat on and have decided while I'm still young I need something petrol fast and uneconomecal as it's likely to be the only time I can afford to do it before I get tied down with family, kids etc.

I bought the car August 24th last year, unfortunately by the end of October the flywheel had failed! So it was booked into my local VAG specialist who have a good reputation around here for a new dual mass flywheel, clutch and slave cylinder. However when the garage checked over the box they found the gearbox had decided to eat itself at the same time :( I'd literally covered 1k miles since owning the car.

So I bit the bullet, the car was also due a cambelt change! So all in all it had... clutch & flywheel, replacement gearbox with new fluid etc, cambelt and waterpump, full service and a brake fluid change.

During the Chrismas holidays the turbo then shat itself, so as before I decided to upgrade to stronger parts and opted for the turbo dynamics MD446 pd130 stage 2 (GT20 comp wheel) hybrid turbo. This was also supplied and fitted by the same people who did the intercooler. The intercooler pipework was cleaned out, oil feed and drain lines replaced along with fresh quantum oil and filter. At the same time the EGR was blanked off.

March/April this year I ordered a full Piper 0 silencer decat back system, swiftly followed by the optional silencer from Piper as it was rather noisy

So I've driveled on long enough, I just wanted to get across that no money has been spared with the upkeep and repairs to the car, and also it should be 100% reliable as the key things have been done, cambelt is out of the way for another 3 1/2 years too!

It's got 12 months MOT and tax until August.

A brief overview of mods:

Engine

Turbo Dynamics MD446 Stage 2 pd130 hybrid turbo.

Piper full decat system with 1 or 0 silencers.

Stage 1 DNA tuning map producing 184bhp/280ftlbs.

Suspension & Brakes

JOM adjustable coilovers.

Audi TT 312mm brakes with new discs and black diamond predator pads (3k old).

20mm Hubcentric rear spacers.

Interior & Cosmetic

Leon Cupra R front splitter.

Leather red stitched hand brake cover.

Armster Leather Armrest.

There's probably loads I've missed, its got full service history and had an oil and filter change last week so is all ready to go.

Looks like a very well put together package.

Someone will get a great car with this by the looks of it, tastefully and thoughtfully done.

Good luck with the sale

Thanks mate :) I tried to be sensible and retain the original looks with a bit of an animal underneath to suprise people!

Forgot to add it will have 4 x brand new parada spec 2's

I'd consider removing some mods to bring the price down a little :)

Don't really want to be ripping the turbo off etc unless I had a very good offer for it with a replacement standard one.

Rarb and head unit removed.

Would take £6,650 for it.

so after all the mods roughly whats the fuel economy?

  • Author

Well my most recent long trip of 100 miles I averaged 62mpg doing 70-75+mph

So it's improved on a gentle run!

Usually average mid 50's

If I remove the fmic but leave the hybrid on along with a stage 1 I'd take £6k ono for it :)

Original ad post altered, now running stage 1!

FMIC is being removed, along with a couple of other bits, main post has an up to date spec.

Now £5,950ono if you decide not to go down a stage 3 route the hybrid performs very well on stage 1 and is sure to be very reliable - far more so than standard!

What headunit is this? Would it fit a fab?

Hybrid is set to be removed 16th of July and replace with a good condition standard turbo, along with the decat pipe. The coilovers will be off this weekend hopefully along with the 312's.

So she'll be a standard car with a piper cat back with 1 silencer, fresh oil & filter 1k ago, new oem air filter this week too.

£5,000.
