Hi, recently I faced a problem with the driver side master window controls not working. However, all the other windows operate from their respective doors window switch. The remote key works except for the driver side door, so I've to manually lock the driver side door. None of the switches except the boot lock/unlock switch works from the driver side master switch. The rear driver side window switch works the opposite with the up working for down and the down working for up.

Is this anything to do with the driver side window motor control unit? I searched a lot and couldnt find one. I just found an used similar item of VW and wanted to know if it would work with Skoda Octavia. The part number for the Skoda Octavia is 1U6959802 D 03Q and that of the VW is 1J1959802 D. They look alike but the second and third alphabet of the part number are different. The VIN number of my Octavia is TMBCGD1U45A029116. Hope this would help for any further. Donno if this is MK1 or MK2.

You have a Mk1. I suggest you edit your post to remove the VIN.

The door control unit is an integral part of the window motor and is not available separately. Despite this, it is

possible to transfer just the box from one window motor to another, provided the part number is the same.
