I got a great deal on some parts from someone returning their fabia to standard and wanted your input before i commit aesthetic suicide.

My fabia is cayenne orange. The tailights i bought are in a black housing, similar in style to the V1 set on superskoda.

I also got a strut brace, front splitter and eyebrows. The sellers fabia was a dark smokey grey one so they painted the three the same. Of course the strut brace doesnt matter, but do you think the other two would look odd or could it compliment the black tailights?

Im just wondering if i should get them sandblasted and painted to match the rest of my fabia before fitting them. Considering the lot didnt set me back much, i could give them to a bodyshop.

the splitter might look nice left as it is but if you have tinted lights/windows maybe black would be better! i personally would prefer the eyebrows to blend in or they may look like they dont belong there! .. as for the strut brace i would rather it was the same colour as any silicone hoses under the bonnet.. it costs nothing to try them on as they are for now and if you aint happy get them painted!!

Thanks a lot for the advice. Dont the eyebrows need bodykit glue.to stick on? So theyd be hard to remove again? i could just use sticky tape to take a picture and post here for opinions.

Windows arent tinted yet, but i suppose i could spend the sandblasting money on that instead.

Well, I fitted the rear lights, strut brace and eyebrows. Didnt get enough time to git splitter, but I quickly stuck it on with some tape to take a picture. Please let me know what you all think. The strut brace seems to be red underneath as some paint flaked off.

When's the funeral?

Not a fan of the splitter, or lights, or eyebrows (in general for eyebrows) I'm afraid!

damn, guys...that bad, really? all the fabias in this area are driven by oaps...just wanted mine to look a little meaner :(

Bin the eyebrows. Rest is ok.

All not for me i'm afraid.

:(

Nothing wrong with trying things, it depends if YOU like it matey.

The strut brace is fine, wouldnt take much effort to colour code it anyway.

As for the other stuff I'm not a fan at all, besides, a Fabia is never going to look 'mean', but an upside down skip for sure! But hey, thats what gives it that certain character, and why I'm on my second one :)

Erm... mate... please, just bin the lights, splitter and eyebrows.

Doesn't make it look mean at all. Sheeite - yes, but not mean.

I have the same car - 1.9TDi Elegance in the same colour, I think mine looks good enough standard. I spend my money on it's mechanical health rather than it's looks. Sorry bud, but not impressed with the splitter/ rear light clusterf**k/ or the eyebrows, HOWEVER, don't let others opinions sway YOUR decision - it's YOUR car at the end of the day and if YOU want it to reflect YOUR taste, go for it ;)

Personally the splitter looks just too small (width wise) for that bumper, the eyebrows do not much for the fabia because the lights are also kinda shaped anyway - it's not like they're square to start with. And the rear lights don't work for me.

What I would have done was...

...Spend your money a little more wisely and drop it, then if you really want the front end to look meaner - headlight/tail light tint. You could have tinted the original tail lights red (which may go with your colour) and the front lights a slightly darker colour, light a light lamin-x.

I would have then tinted the fogs a yellow colour a la lamin-x

I would have also blacked out the grill - be it either plastidip/acrylic gloss/acrylic matt/vinyl wrap.

After that... tint the windows.

Use a stubby aerial.

It'd look a lot meaner with those options.

Past that point... A leon cupra R splitter on a stock bumper _might_ work. It'd be a hell of a lot better than the one you picked up!

Just my two penneth on the matter anyways.

Is this a joke?

Thanks for the guide, Chris. Much appreciated. I picked up that lot together with a K&N panel filter for £40...so figured it was a worth a punt anyway till I get some coilovers.

The engine has been getting plenty of TLC on my front lawn....just wanted it to look a little different to standard, but nothing too radical. Alas my poor taste has once again gotten the better of me!

As mentioned above, doing styling mods to your car is about YOUR taste, not everyone elses'! Being different will make the car stand out, whether its to everyone's taste or just yours.

If you like what you have bought and trial fitted, then make it permanent. Ask someone to do some photoshopping on the pics and change the grey colour to match your car before spending any money on having the paint altered.

IMO the splitter looks ok (maybe better in black) and the lights i'm in two minds about. The brows, I have never liked on any car! I prefer 100% maximum light output, especially due to the roads I drive where I lIve.

Ultimately, it is YOUR decision in what you do. If you like it.......then go for it!

Dan

Bin the eyebrows. Rest is ok.

Have you seen that splitter!

To the OP, most aren't a fan of those rear lights. Question: Can they be split and the insides painted to match the body?

As for the eyebrows, they'd look better painted too. Please ditch the splitter idea, or at least the "that particular splitter idea".

Thanks for the ideas, Dan. I'll take some better shots and goof around on photoshop on a free weekend to see what suits.

J, I imagine splitting the rears would involve popping them in the oven to soften the glue or something? Akin to what others have done on here to their fronts to paint the insides. I'll play around with it and see....might be less vomit-inducing on others if they match the body more.

Will probably end up ditching the splitter if my photoshop efforts don't seem promising!

I have the same rear lights on mine but my care is black so blend in abit more and although they are not to everyones taste you cant please everyone so no point in trying. just go with what you like at the end of the day your the one paying for it and driving it nobody else.

Put it back to how it should be, sell it and buy a VRS. Looks cheap and awful! Sorry chap
