Have you got one, any good ?

Been looking at the Roomba 780

My ex has one of those.

Its ok, but tends to get itself a bit stuck in corners/beached on things occasionally.

Its a fairly good cleaner, but its waste bin is quite small so does need emptying frequently

They are a bit pricey !

What's the current hourly/daily rate for a cleaning lady ?

Can it suck and blow?

I read review on El Reg that basically say they're ok but take a little while to pick up all the dust. Not like a Dyson with loads of suction. The robots need to keep going over the same area which is fine since it can do it at night or through the day when you're out.

I'd like a robot lawnmower more but it'd need a built in tazer to stop getting nicked

I bought a Roomba for the wife (before people shout at me, she asked for one for her birthday) back December in 2010 - it's never failed, has had one new set of brushes, and walks around our house a couple of times a week.

It's never caused any damage, and does keep the house looking Ok. - we have a German Shepherd dog, and it does Ok with her hair - I have to say, it does not replace a "traditional" vacuum we do run over the house with a Dyson every month or so.
