Taking the nippers to Legoland a week on sunday and we're staying in a Pikeylodge in Bracknell the night before. Tw@nav wants to take me round the M25 from the A1 junction. It will be around 19:00 or will it be best avoiding the M25 all together?

Junction A1 Dartford or A1M1 junction South Mimms ??, if from Dartford clockwise no problems, if from Mimms anti loads of 50 mph limit roadworks, but on a Saturday evening either way traffic will be lightest.

M25 on a saturday evening isn't great, but isn't too bad that late IMHO.

FWIW the M40 isn't exactly pretty last I looked, so I'd be tempted to go M25

+1 I'd do M1 > M25 over the M40.

The problem is that at anytime if there is an accident the m25 just comes to a stand still no matter what time of day.

But the M1 is the same, at least on a Saturday evening the traffic volume wont be quite so bad, about an hour ish on the M25.
