New Citigo on order

Featured Replies

How much is the extra key with buttons going to cost?

Can't say I'm that worried as the last four cars have never seen the spare key used. It's just kept in a safe place for emergencies.

I am no expert on the cost but I believe its something stupid in the region of £200.

  • I feel an email to the dealer coming on. If up owners can change VW's mind we might have a chance of doing the same ?

I'll stick with one then. :)

I think both dealer and Skoda UK will be contacted at this rate

I think that might be a good idea, I will definitely be on to the dealer about that and the full tank of fuel I think

Why has my name changed from citigo_elegance75 to Elegance 75?

Edited by Elegance75

Why would you want a full tank of fuel, is it a dealer offer?

Also what's this Autoglym extra I've seen people post about when they have ordered a Citigo?

Just being nosey

Just a niceity to ask the dealer when you pick up the car, some people might ask for mats

The autoglym is a protection for the different parts of the car to prolong the cars features ie the paint, upholstery and glass, with paint its a protective coating and is water repellent, the upholstery its a waterproof coating and the glass also a water repelling coating. But you also get a big 'hamper/bag' with goodies waxes, cleaners, sponges etc

Thanks for the explanation.

Autoglym not mentioned to me when I placed my order. I do use their products on my cars though..

You never get a full tank of fuel unless you agree to that as it comes out of the dealer's pocket.

In my opinion you're more likely to get a discount on the Autoglym Lifeshine as there is mark up on it, unlike the fuel.

I'm getting gap insurance 'at cost' can't be too much of a mark up on that surely.

Emailed the dealer yesterday.

2nd key is £100 and they were unwilling to throw one in the pot.

Worth asking but I'm not that bothered.

I also got GAP at cost after showing them a couple of quotes for alternative cover.

Our car is currently in Emden waiting to get on the boat :)

So the man from Skoda says no!.£100-00 seems cheap to what the up! community are being asked to pay.

Even so if every other Skoda model owner gets 2 main keys cannot see why Citigo owners should be any different.

Ok sorry to bring it up, how much fuel do you usually get? I will ask nearer the time about the 2nd key

One or two gallons.

Enough for about 40-80 miles depending on the car.

A lot of car firms include a full tank of fuel as part of the on the road price. You get a full tank, but of course you are paying for it.

Had a call from the dealer today.

They are expecting delivery to me late September, possibly early October, maybe sooner...

I do hope it's sooner as the insurance & MOT run out on the 30th September on the Qashqai!

Why not get rid of the Qashqai before, and ask the dealer if he can loan you a car for free till yours is ready? Perhaps one of the used cars or courtesy cars. That is what my dealer did for me when i bought my Smart.

That's a great idea! I'm sure the dealer will come up with something when we get closer to the changeover date.

Thanks

Holy thread resurrection, Batman!

Ok, a quick update on my Citigo...

The insurance, MOT and car tax expire on my current car on the 28th September, as previously mentioned.

The dealer knows this, so went along to see what the current situation was.

To cut a dull story short, they are expecting delivery early November at the latest, could be sooner.

They have agree to loan me a car until delivery, for which I insure it. Which is ok with me.

So I get a Fabia SE+ diesel, in the meantime.

To be honest, I was this close (*very small*) to walking away from the deal, but then I wouldn't get the deposit back.

Anyway, happy to wait, as I'm sure the Citigo is worth it.

Hi

Just to let you know my problems with delivery of my citigo ordered 26/7/12 a red with ivory interior 75 elegance greentech expected Sept/Oct. A phone call to dealer two weeks ago expected delivery Jan/Feb 2013.

So asked what car they had waiting at the port in Germany with the same spec as ordered. None.

So I asked any colour/ interior combo,

Just green & silver.

So changed order to green with black interior expected mid October.

Will keep you posted.

Now showing as week 51 build (unconfirmed) should get end of January

Hi

It was ordered thru a dealer and from this forum it looks like I am not the only one who has problems with getting the car they have ordered.

The tax runs out at the end of October and mot in November for my Suzuki Grand Vitara trade in so I had to go with what they had,

Initially they have agreed my trade in value for the initial 12 weeks not sure what is going to happen come October 15ish when I'm still no nearer to getting a build date

Suspect I few stern words will be exchanged if they try and wriggle out of it

They will honour your part ex as long as you've got it in writing !
