Hi all going to France next month and am just wanting to know if the headlights have adjustment on them

Or do I have to use the obligatory stick on beam benders.

I have an 04/04 l&k octavia est with xenons.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Apparently they do - but you have to take the light units out to find it.

I used a Halfords stick-on kit when I took mine to France - never had any issues.

have to be careful with the beambenders, they can fuse themselves to the plastic headlight casings when they get hot.

You need to have them on the car, or the if you have it the headlights adjusted, the french are cracking down on this along with lots of other cr*p, like a breathaliser now being required.

Just an update regarding the adjustment for continental driving.

Rang up my local Skoda dealer, asked the question. A moment please, sound of phone resting on desk.....................................................

er no sorry it doesnt you'll need some beam benders. Can i put you through to our parts dept??? No thank you...

So anyway not convinced i looked through my booklet, no real clues in there either apart where to stick them. And upon closer inspection of headligjhts, is no little triangle area for said adjusters to go.

So thought i'd have a fiddle..

after no more than 5 mins, headlight out, backing off and there staring back at me, a nice little shiny lever... Sch-ting job done...

Is that a L&K/xenon specific thing or do we all have that feature? I've not noticed a lever whilst changing bulbs...but then i havent really been looking for one!

Xenon only. The lever drops a shield down to cut off the part of the beam that kicks up on the left hand side.
