Such a petty thing to do.... It worries me how some parts are easy to clip off these days, and any idiot can work out how to take them!

My other pet hate is keying....

Hope you get it sorted mate!

What a thing to steal?

Normally, alloys, head unit you know stuff that has some value?

Still not right though i suppose.

There was a craze about 2 years ago in Whitby of little scrots going round stealing badges, bonnet, boot, anything they could get their hands on, about 70% of locals cars running round with no badge :wonder:

Mirror glass is no problem I work at Vw same as mk4 golf I think, grills were colour coded but were thinking of wrapping them black any way, still an inconvenience and money out of pocket.

A lot of effort to nick, someone has obviously planned it. Was the car parked on a drive?

Yes it was on my drive with lighting but was fast asleep and didn't hear anything.

Sorry to hear this mate & it really doesn't surprise me. Two weeks back at a racing event, middle of the afternoon my Fun parked up in an open communal carpark, looking back from the other side of the track saw a guy trying to prize off the skoda centre caps from my alloys. Luckily he couldn't get them but beggars belief!!

They may have pinched them to put on their own fabia, have you seen a fabia nearby with a missing mirror glass & fog light trims? or one driving past recently having a good look at your car? They are scum,we work hard to have the things we want & scum like this think its ok to help themselves to it.......Grrrrr

I really don't see the point in stealing that - can't have much, if any, aftermarket value?

Sorry to hear about your bad luck.

Yeah it's not being nicked to sell on it being nicked to fit to their own car. My fiesta st is currently missing side skirts & rear bumper trim :(

Ordered the grills from tps, 7 and half quid a side and a tenner for a mirror glass, makes you wonder what goes through these morons minds, is it worth arrest or a good kick in if they are cought over 25 quid!

Sorry to hear that! If they can be bothered (and have time!) to steal these petty things then they should just get off their arses and work for a couple of hours at minimum wage and contribute to our economy, their CV and buy these parts fair and square!

Top tip. Every time you have anything off your car, mark it with the registration number before you put it back, It may help later in identifying it later.

It's a funny thing lad at work had his fog grills and tail gate trim nicked off his Astra vxrNuremberg the other night but we don't live anywhere near each other.

hope you find out who it was, little kunts. I caught a lad red handed about 5 years ago steeling bits off my audi. I zip tied him to my metal fencing on my wall and took pics and posted the little shart on Audi sport forum.. Left him there for about 3 hours then called the po po. they was not suprised when i told them he fell over many times and bounced off the wall injuring him self..

Hope ya get em mate.. little scum bags people now days!

Sorry to hear of the theft, these bits n pieces generally find their way on to places like flebay or car boot just for a couple of quid, have you scanned eBay for sellers near you? , you may be surprised

I'll have a look but there not worth owt, got new ones on today and mirror glass has arrived.

I once bought a rubbish old Fiesta from an auction, but it had tartan race seats, like the Golf GTI seats. It wasn't until I bought the thing that I realised they stank of rotten milk. Five weeks later some jokers nicked the car and it was found in a field stripped of the seats and the carburetor.

I couldn't help feeling a slight sense of satisfaction that their new interior was going to smell like puke :sun:

Just ordered a wi fi security camera takes pics of movement and emails them to you and can monitor from anywhere on my phone, got an old one up but dosnt work anymore, in 12 years of living here I've had 1 car stolen never found and 2 broken into so even of I don't catch them in the act will see who it is !

That's a sensible precaution, make sure they are decent ones that you can make their faces out. I take it you live near some undesirables?

Not really you get it most places but I live on a main road so will get noticed more.

Thieving Bar-Stewards, I hope they get their due and soon.

I caught a guy trying to steal the head unit out of my mates car at work a couple of years ago and sat on the little ****e until the 50 arrived, I was particularly apologetic about him "falling over several times as he tried to get away officer", I only used reasonable force to detain him as I didn't want to get into any trouble, "don't worry Sir, that seems to happen a lot when these little rascals get caught by a member of the public, it's almost as if they were drunk or something".

Luckily I caught him before he had chance to do much damage, he had only removed the surround trim thank goodness.

1-0 for the good guys for a change.
