FK Automotive Hubcentric spacers

Featured Replies

Afternoon all,

Ive just purchased from Awesome GTI some eibach springs and 15mm and 8mm spacers for my 06 VRS Estate.

The fronts using the 8mm spacers come with longer wheel bolts and the rears are FK Automotive Hubcentric System B+. So basically with the rears i bolt the spacer to the hub with the suplied longer bolts and then the wheel to the spacer using my existing bolts. But my exising bolts must be shortened a wee amount as (apparently) they are will be too long and touch the spacer.

Has anyone used this setup and where can i get shortened wheel bolts ? or will it be ok to cut down my existing ones ?

Thanks

have you measured them to make sure?i thought with a hubcentric setup you wouldnt need to modify bolts

Taken from FK's website - ( the ones i have ordered are System B+)

System B Centric / System B+ Centric

These two systems of wheel spacer are bolted onto the hub first using bolts supplied and then you bolt your wheel to the spacer using your existing wheel bolts. This type of spacer is only used on the thicker spacers (15mm upwards). System B+ uses additional steel inserts for even extra safety and longer life.

When fitting wheel spacers you must first ensure the surface you are fitting the spacer to is clean and free from dirt and dust particles. We recommend using a wire brush to prepare the surface. Brush on a small amount of copper grease to prevent the spacer from dislocating when you fit the wheel and help prevent rust on the hub. Tighten the wheel bolts to the factory torque settings.

For any spacers under 15mm you may have to shorten your standard wheel bolts.

For any spacers under 15mm you may have to shorten your standard wheel bolts.

You have answered your own question there. The rear spacers are 15mm and therefore the bolts won't require shortening.

This is why ive raised the question as Awesome GTI said id need to shorten the bolts. But i do see what your seeing as the above says '15mm' and larger spacers can use my existing bolts.

if i'm understanding this correctly......

with a 12mm spacer, its the same "longer bolt" that threads through both the wheel & spacer onto the hub.

with a 15mm spacer, u need two sets of bolts. one set to bolt the 15mm onto the hub. then another set to bolt the wheel onto the spacer.

but what ur saying is that the bolts (spacer to hub) r a tad bit too long, hence the wheel not sitting flush against the face of the spacer?
