Flashing glow plug light and engine management on after new turbo change

Featured Replies

Hi to all at briskoda.... I need the help of the experts again chaps!!! The problem I have is .... I fitted a brand new genuine turbo today and all went well with no problems. During the fitting process I uncoupled the crankshaft sensor wiring plug "white one" behind oil filter so that I could crank the engine over for about 15 seconds "without the engine starting" to prime the oil feed pipe to new turbo. When I was all fInished I started the car which started first turn of the key as normal. I then noticed the glow pug light was permenantly flashing and the eml was permenantly on too!! Never had any warning lights come on at all before?? The car starts and drives perfect just these bloody warning lights.... Im thinking it was when I cranked engine over without crankshaft sensor connected but what are your thoughts??? Maybe the lights will go out after a few starts like I've read on other posts on here ?? Any known fixes?? Thanks for any advice guys..... Cheers Neil.

Think you pretty much answered yourself. Be worth getting it code read and cleared.

Ain't nobody got time for this !

Code should change from active to pending after a few starts and driving over 10 MPH

It's just the ecu freaking out due to the sensor being unplugged, clear the codes with vcds/code reader :)

Thanks for your input guys.... Going to have a drive in it at the weekend and put a few miles on it ... See if the Ecu realises that everything is ok and resets its self !!! You never know ..... If not I'll go get codes read and cleared. Thanks again.... Nice to have your thoughts on this....

Just to let you know that after approximately 20 starts over the weekend the glow plug light has stopped flashing and engine management light has gone off .... Looks like the Ecu realised that there were no faults in system and reset itself... Thanks for your input guys !!!!
