Putting Eibach springs on a combi

Featured Replies

Is there a problem fitting Eibach springs on a combi and leaving standard dampers?

I’m guessing that's what would happen if you had the optional sports suspension package fitted at the factory?

The car is virtually new, so it's not as if they’ve had a lot of wear and tear

Oh god noooooo!

I had the Eibach -30s on my Combi and whilst it looked nice it rode like a pig!

Think crash bash thump over even the slightest lump or hole in the road.

I think my Polo on its super-hard coilovers is actually more comfortable than the Fab was!

Where's Leon when you need him?

Sport suspension will be springs and dampers. Putting firmer springs on the stock dampers will be under-damped and will get bouncy when driving briskly.

The stock setup will do that anyway, catcha bump mid-corner when pressing on makes it bounce, the sport damper settings resist that. To keep them matched, springs and dampers are the way to go IMO.
