I've got 2 litres of Castrol Magnetic 5W-30A1. It says it's meant for a Ford (my previous car) but will it be okay for my Skoda Fabia 2001 1.4MPI?

Castrol recommend you use Edge 5W30 - if you're going to use Magnatec they recommend 10W40.

If you already have it, see if it conforms to either:

VW 501.01

VW 502.00

VW 504.00

If it conforms to one of those you, according to the owners manual, should, in theory, be able to use it - but I obviously can't guarantee my advice

Best advice is that you check your owners manual and compare the Oil Specification codes (should be P156).

Thanks! That's very kind of you. It's probably down to the marketing degree I've just finished added to living with language students (although you'd be surprised how bad some marketers are with English...)
