Really bad knocking

Featured Replies

I had a really bad knocking noise from the front passenger side, got underneath and found a drop link with excessive play in it, got it replaced, drove a mile or two then it appears to be really badly knocking again. Any ideas people??

I think you should have had both droplinks replaced, and probably your ARB bushes as well. Provided the existing droplink nuts aren't too badly rusted on, both jobs are cheap and easy DIY tasks. As I have just found out myself (described in another thread), loose droplinks can cause knocking noises to appear from all over the place, but they should always be replaced in pairs as a matter of good practice.

is your car lowered on coilovers?

have you checked you console bushes?

Dave - I replaced the other side two weeks ago so both are now new. Maybe the garage havnt nipped the bolts up enough when fitting the new drop links?

Biggy - yeah lowered on coilovers pal, not checked any bushes buddy, tbh I don't really no where I'm looking and what to look for when it comes to bushes

Mine knocked real bad - turned out to be ARB bush clamp things had come loose over time. East to check & fix.
