Headlights to Euro-beam

Featured Replies

I have tried to search for this and have seen it referenced in other posts: how can I change the beam on my Monte Carlo to the other side for a French trip? I had the switch in place when I bought my Octy back from Germany, but I never saw where the switch was or how to do it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Couldn't find any adjustment on my Fabia 2007, new shape. My nephew has a 2009 which has silver coloured adjusters at the back of the headlamp inside the black rubber 'jam-pot lid' type covers. Take care, though, they can be a bit fragile so go easy with the moving as you don't want them to snap off. Maybe someone else will come on here with a better description of how to adjust.

Before I went to France ( Reims ) a couple of years back, I couldn't find anyone to tell me where the adjusters were so went with the black tape solution!

Sorry no idea if Monte is the same as a vRS, but if it is, look at as described in a 2010 Fabia Owners manual.

page 50.

'Deactivating Tourist light'.

page 150

'the adaption of the halogen projector headlights...

The tourist lights deactivates the swivel

.......and flatten the beam on the road

Ah ok, explained on page 43 of the PDF file then, sorted

Debatable if I will travel through France again with their draconian laws, ( 2 breathalysers, speed camera warnings etc) I went to Germany Switzerland Belgium the Netherlands and France every year for 13 years , The last time I was overtaken by about 3000 cars as I kept to the speed limit, ( sat nav accurate) and they fined me for 1km an hour over!! :wall: I said your machine or camera is not that accurate, my sat nav is, that is not even 1 mph, and they had altered it . Money in their back pockets if you ask me, they had timed me between tolls, average speed, but they did not take into account I had a reserve tag which opens up the barrier and you sail through.I only see English plated cars stopped, rant over :@:giggle:

Thanks Guys - I had the manual out yesterday and forgot to look, now I have stored it away again and will doubtless forget to look by tonight...

Tourist beams - that was what they did to my Octy in Germany. I had it undone when we returned to the UK.

The French rules look a bit steep - no speed camera warnings on any device (so I have to use a map???) and what if my Atlas shows speed cameras (as new ones do?)?

Breathalysers, with a year of life, carry 2 (£5.99, but unnecessary - just don't drink and drive).

All the other stuff is in the boot anyway I think, having accumulated it. The AA kit for £45 looks good value after pricing up bits individually on Halfords site - purports to be £80+ worth.

think most sat nav speed camera warning programs can be deactivated via downloads? Did it on mine last week in prep for French visit.

If you have stored your manual, just look at the pdf file I posted above, and Tom Tom has got round it by calling the cameras , "Accident :giggle: black spots "now

OK - I've just read the PDF file (saves me getting the book out) and it seems to imply that you can only activate tourist mode on Halogen Direction headlights. Do I have those? Might sound silly, but I had no idea that my headlights corner and don't remember reading it in the blurb when I bought it. I'll give that a crack though!

I spent ages trying to find this out before a road trip across Europe in April, couldn't find anything for the Monte headlights, so thought I would just grab some beam adjust stickers when I got to the Tunnel, but actually ended up being late and didn't manage to get any!

I did 2500 miles across Belgium and France, day and night driving and didn't get flashed once, which I know is not ideal, as it's not a fix but I wouldn't worry too much!

To use the euro light set up you have to spec cornering lights, otherwise it's the stickers
