Lowering Springs Fitted, A Budget Success,UPDATE THEYRE CRAP

Featured Replies

My 35mm lowering springs arrived , back went down alot but front didnt go as far, apparently they settle, especially with the tdi bearing down, since these photos were taken front has gone down some more

She no longer dips when braking, body roll is right down, not as bouncy as i was expecting, but they are hard, seems like as soon as you hit a bump it wants to rectify as quick as possible.

So the drop i was told was needed, has been done, all be it on a budget

Looks good. But not sure about lowering springs on standard shocks. I got vrs suspension off here for £65 delivered, now my Elegance is lower then standard, but still comfy.

Yeah it was always gonna be a risk, but I decided to go for it, and understanding the possibility for problems I actually came out of it pretty well.

Oh and these springs were 65 delivered brand new with 2 year guarantee

That looks better.

Let's hope the front settles a little more.

Looks good

I had a vento once and dropped it useing just eibach springs it looked exactly the same, rear lower than front. The second vento I had was lower on the back than the front aswell on stock springs. Maybe VAG designed it that way? The only other reason I could think of was that the springs are the same as the golf (eventhough they were listed as vento) and the extra rear weight caused it to ride lower. The only reason that this springs to mind is that the Octy is going to be heavier on the rear than the golf etc. The vento I lowered handled great on 17s but never realy had that slammed look.......

You might be able to drop the front a little more useing after market top mounts.

tis a bit better eh? they were sky high before, front has settled quite a bit now ill update the pics, heard one or two ''''''bongggssss'''' from front in first few miles and she has gone down to a matching level.

How much were they? I'm tempted...

£65 delivered, 24hr courier, if ind then really good, ride is still manageable on standard shockys, i am updating the pics in next 5 mins so you can see final settle.

a warning though, my jack got stuck under car, have a peice of wood handy to put under tyre so you can release jack and then drive down off wood

I love it :)

Looks about the same ride height as my vRS.

Still a bit higher yes, but only arch by design it has a higher arch at front, the car is actually level. They are from a company on ebay called performance 3000 and are same as the old Jamex springs
