Ambrosia doesn't have the Tinted Sun Strip at the top of the Windscreen (11 plate Tsi Vrs)

Should it have one ? I think my last Vrs did (07 plate Tdi Vrs PD)

Yep - mine has

I have a 11 plate L&K DSG without a tinted sun strip I beleive that it has been dropped from the spec

My 2007 vRS and 2008 Scout do.

Another cost saving exercise?

Does the screen have the Skoda logo in the bottom corner? It may have had a new aftermarket screen fitted before you got it?

It's a darkish tint at the top of the windscreen it's about 3 or 4 inches in depth. There is a small black line with a number on ( I think) on the top right hand corner of the screen, it gives the tint number

They go dark when they start to get ripe!

My 10 plate VRS was hit by a stone today and sure enough I now have a 14inch crack split. :( thanks rain for washing stones into the road :S

The technician I called at Autoglass asked me to check for this tint, mine, a FL model certainly doesn't have it, and it could well be a FL doesnt have and pre FL does..I don't know, but the guy at Autoglass said it was about 50/50 whether the tint was there or not.

Apparently they can only replace the glass like for like...hence him asking if mine had it.

Still I am now £125 lighter but it betters than the non-insurance cash price he said that that would have been £914!

I'll say this again then:

The FL doesnt have it

The MY59 L&K only has bobble things round the rear view mirror, which are fairly useless. I thought the little flap on the 1U was a better idea. Spec drift i guess.

It's a Skoda Screen. It has the logo on
