Skoda Sports springs?

Featured Replies

Are these still available from dealers?

Be interested if anyone has them and whether they improve ride as well as handling?

They are just the eibach pro springs and yes they improve the ride and the handling especially when coupled with some decent aftermarket dampers.

Thanks for the rapid response!

So, in isolation they improve the ride?

I had Eibach Pro Springs on the front of the Volvo before I changed to BC coilovers, they worked pretty well. it on a very different car.

Btw, from memory, you should not use uprated dampers with Eibach Pro springs?

Which dampers are recommended to work with these springs?

Eibach pro springs will work with oem dampers too. I have Koni FSD dampers paired with mine.

I have Skoda / Eibach lowering springs on my estate (non-Vrs) paired with new Bilstein B4 dampers (standard ones).

Much improved stance and handling without too much harshness.

If you have an estate, I think Caffyns have a set on eBay for around £90 delivered.

Beware of anything on the road as you are driving as it will probably hit the bottom of your car if it's lower (even coke cans) and an increase in insurance premiums.

FSD'S have an extremely poor reputation on my Volvo forums (they've a very derogatory nickname!), have to say I disliked the car I'd driven with Eibach/FSD'S but it was a Volvo so maybe different with a Skoda. The BC VR's were in a different league to be honest.

I'm specifically interested to know what effect they have in isolation as I have no intention of replacing dampers until they fail.

The suspension on my car is already firm enough (18" stock wheels), I'm just interested to know if the Eibachs improve ride.

I have Eibach Pro's (Skoda sport springs) on my vRS with OEM dampers and it drives fine for me. Nice visual difference and far nicer when cornering too.

Not sure you can still get the springs from Skoda though

The B4 dampers are supposed to be a direct replacement for the OE dampers, so the ride should change very little due to these.

I can certainly say that the drive on the Eibach springs is much better than standard springs, car sits slightly lower than a standard Vrs and is worth doing (in my opinion).

Certainly like the look of mine

As mentioned before though I don't think Skoda do them anymore so there may be warranty issues

I've been fairly impressed by the FSDs combined with the Eibachs. Ride comfort is good and not harsh in the slightest but handling greatly improved with less roll in the corners.

Can't wait to get mine fitted then! :D Think I'll leave the stock dampers for the time being though.

Are there many ground clearance issues as my car spends quite a bit of time going up and down farm tracks?

Mine lives on building sites and gets by fine

Likewise

Too bad the eibach springs are just a tad to expensive in my opinion. 200€ to get them over here

Cool. Will be fitted asap. Hopefully not too expensive to fit...

I'd be interested to know how you get on with them?

How much are they? I paid £146 for front springs for my Volvo.

Certainly like the look of mine

Love the way that car sits.

Thanks. I'll let you know but it won't be a few weeks yet as I'm out of the country.

I got mine second hand on eBay. Paid £70 for them IIRC.

Eibach springs are still for sale on eBay (this is where I got mine from) for £92 delivered.

But how are they compared to the pro-kit ones

They are the Pro-kit ones as sold by Skoda - They are just red because they are for an estate!

The Sport line ones drop the front more than the back - and mine definately sits level.

eibach only make a pro kit for the octavia, they don't make a sport line.

my eibach pro-kit (found from the skoda uk accessories website) came in this box....
