Columbus won't start

Featured Replies

Hi

Started the car this morning and the sat nav/radio won't boot, I get the splash screen for a few seconds then straight to off, anyone had a similar experience

Car is a 2009 VRS petrol

Had exactly the same problem on a 2009 superb, returned to skoda and there was an update they carried out free of charge. Now have got latest up to date maps, and post code searches too.

My 09 superb has started this tonight (no problems until then). On startup to come home from work, welcome splash screen appears for about 10~20 seconds, then goes off for a similiar amount of time and just continues the cycle. Do you recognise if this is the same symptom and know what the update was?

Thanks in advance

We do have an update disc for that iirc..

Thanks Tech1e, is there a specific update that I have to ask the dealer for?

Exactly the same sympton has hit me last week.

Splash screen followed by black which repeats every minute or so.

I dont have the secret menu activated so i have no idea what firmware or map versions are installed. Makes no difference as i cant get anything on the screen anyway!

Might try my local garage to see if they could access this info using VCDS. Any specific information that i can give them to help him out?

I have been offered a diagnosis session at Skoda for £90 and the V8 maps at £192 but would the maps CD have the latest firmware as well? And would it need to be installed by them using VCDS? Not sure what level of activation is needed.
