Vehicle tool kit in spare wheel - whats missing?

Featured Replies

07 Vrs

Wanted to check the pressure in the spare today so had to open and unscrew the plastic circular tool kit and noticed a pen shaped groove that obviously has been designed to hold something.

Any ideas? Also what's the circular metal spring clip for? Looks a bit like a keyring. Checked the manual but there's no mention.

My kit holds:

Jack

Towing eye

Wheel brace

Hexagonal nut adapter

Big tweezers for removing nut covers

Keyring-looking bit of metal

Am I missing anything?

Mike

The bit of metal is to remove wheel trims and the other one is for a screwdriver IIRC for some styles of centre caps.

Obviously they just make one tool "box", then put the relevant tools for each car in.

Ok. It's also lovely having a full size spare, even if its 50mph max

Mine came with a Continental P6000 spare tyre, don't think I have to do 50mph on it though.

Mine has the 50 mph sticker on it but a normal tyre on it. Diddnt slow me down on the m25 last week.

Take the sticker off and go as fast as you like.

It's a full size steel wheel and a regular tyre the same

size and rating as the others on the car.

50mph my arse.

Exactly what I said to my dad. But he is older and wiser and knows best. Lol

Mine has a vag spanner and one of them reversible screw drivers as well.

Isn't the spare directional? I'm sure I remember thinking the 50mpg must be incase you have it on the wrong way.

Weird, maybe yours has been replaced with one from another car?

Mine is much shorter than that and fits perfectly in the designated slot.

I think mine's is the same, it was just hanging from the box wrench when i opened it up last week.
