car alarm

Featured Replies

Just locked the car and the lights did not flash like when a door is not shut,so checked all the doors and boot which are shut.Armed the alarm still no flashing lights then a few minutes later the alarm when off .Turned the alarm off checked to see if there a window open,no .Has anyone any ideas what's worse going away in the morning for two weeks and this starts.

I would say a door switch isn't working so the car thinks that a door is still open.

Open all the doors and find the one that doesn't trigger the inside light or check that the boot light comes on (if you have one).

I think there is also some logging you can do with vag com which tells you which doors are open/shut.

Done all the doors and the light comes on inside, but the boot light doesn't,I have had problems with this before.what can you do with the boot switch and is it the flat rubber to the right of the catch .

Boot switch is in the tailgate itself I think.

I think the switch is near the striker, pushed it in and out with wd40 ,shut the boot armed the alarm and the lights flashed,It's been on now for a few hours and the alarm not kicked in .So I hope that's it for now !
