Featured Replies

Currently have the Leon GT Brembo front brake set up with 323mm discs & pads (tarox) .

What are peoples thoughts on the below?

Cheers,

what do you need these for? unless you use your car for track days they are a wast of money.

The same discs are on the car now. Any recommendations on a cheaper set up???

your post was more of a waste of time than his having Brembos is a waste of money.

I would have thought that was fairly self-explanatory? your post was pointless and a complete waste of your time, the OP's time and the time of anyone/everyone that read it... :wonder:

I don't particularly see the point in grilled and/or drilled discs but I did post a link to some "normal" discs that are a bit cheaper. 323mm discs aren't common so they aren't going to be as cheap as regular 288mm or 312mm discs

When you have 260 bhp & 400 lbs ft going through the front wheels like my car they are.

mine's got a GTB2260, it's admittedly not mapped as...aggressively...as it could be due to low compression but regular discs and DS2500s seem to do me fine

Drilled and grooved discs in my experience do bugger all apart from make a annoying noise. Decent pads & OEM discs are plenty, especially when running 323 Brembo`s on a fabia. I have a mate who runs 312`s with OEM discs and DS2500 pads and has no issues braking, even on track days. (he is also running 200+ bhp)

Tend to agree really. I think they are mainly for show unless used aggressively on a track. TBH the drilled & grooved where on the car when I bought it so I reckon I will stick with the same as the back also has these. They're only £30 more so no big deal.

Hi Phil - nice Furby :)

I run 312mm set up with EBC Ultimax grooved discs & Yellowstuff pads - cost about £200 but I must say I've been very very impressed with them on road and track.

I havent noticed the grooved discs making a noise (apart from when they were first fitted as they have a black coating on them that help wear them in - sounded awful for the first few miles!)

ive just put ebc green stuff and turbo groove pads on the front of mine - standard vrs and standard calipers wont make any difference in price as they were similar to those on ebay but im loving them - cant fault at all
