Press rubber on front door hinge and car locks + electric probs

Featured Replies

Just looking a bit of advise on the following:

1. If i press on the rubber cable protector that goes from the drivers door into the car at the hinge end the central locking will lock, pulled the rubber back and the connector plug is in place and tight but if i push it in it will also lock the doors, anyone had this problem?

2. I have an abs sensor fault on front right, just waiting to get the cash for a sensor, but since this sometimes just engine light remains on and if i press the brake pedal its barely goes in and grinds like abs kicking... but its not slowin the car down. Is this just down to the sensor fault?

3. Sometimes my power steering light is flicking on and the steering goes heavy, usually turning car off and back on will clear this and the steering is fine. Does this sound like the sensor is away? and if so where is best to get one? Ps its the vrs model

I think maybe all this is related to an electrical wiring problem setting fault codes off all the time, but not sure if that would happen, or could all these sensors just be going at once?

Cheers for any suggestions

1. I would say you have a couple of broken wires in the door loom. Quite a common problem on all makes of cars. Should be a simple fix for an auto electrician or a not too difficult fix for a competant DIY fixer

2. I'd take your wheels off one at a time and check your brake pads as they could be dangerously low.

3. Not a clue

Hi mate i think the pads are spot on but ill take the wheels off for a better inspection. And ill leave the door locking problem to a pro, my soldering sucks
