Octavia Xenons "STUPID" Design

Featured Replies

On our L&K one of the side light bulbs has blown, to get it changed it has to go to the dealers as its all within the Xenon sealed unit. I guess its 0 out of 10 to Skoda for that bit of Design !!

It's an easy job to DIY if you have Torx drivers and some screwdriver-sense.

Possibly but WHY does it have to be like this, Your Mr Average with an Octy is goint to get a tadge anoyed at the cost to change a side light bulb !!

It does seem a bit daft.

Also there's the impossible to get to switch for adjusting the gheadlights for driving in Europe. If it's in there, why not make it accessible?

I know what you mean Stuart, last service I knew I had a side light out. When I picked it up cheer dealer man said we changed the side light aswell....fear of god for a 60 quid bill to do that...no charge...phew, anger...why didn't you call me I had 2 100w main beam bulbs in the boot I need to fit.

It's not the best design, one of the many things when I get over some of the antics afoot is to photodoc / guide the change. Afterall some cars are coming to three years and delaer visits are historically lesser then, certainly not for a bulb change ;)

I look forward to such an article, as i bought some phillips blue vision sidelight bulbs, and after seeing that you should take octy's fitted with xenons to main dealer i aint even bothered attempting to change them, for fear of cacking up the xenons...
