05 FABIA VRS - Modification Questions

Hi everyone, I am now the proud owner of an 05 FabVRS!

I've been reading through the forums for a few weeks to find info etc and have pretty much decided on a PD160 intake, full zaust system, (mufflerectomy and de-cat) some vmax coilies and a remap.

My questions are A. Is it worth me just getting a full 2.5 inch bore zaust instead of modifying the current one.

B. is it worth getting a FMIC too?

Or are these unecessary steps unless you are going for a hybrid tubby?

Hey I see you're in East Barnet. Do you go to any local meets?

If your not planning going hybrid or bigger turbo then just stick to a remap. If your doing track days then think about a FMIC. Forget the rest and save your money.

I'd still like a Zaust for the noise + some gains on the remap. What sort of gains am I likely to see with a decat, mufflerectomy and a map?

Nope but it will avoid heat soak so you would keep the power for longer.

Thanks for the advice mate, I might go for a fmic for the visual aspect anyway. Also I've read on the forums that people have issues with the dmf. What are the symptoms because sonetimes I get a whiring noise while I'm cruising along?

True get shark on it with a good decat system. Id put money on them getting good results :)

190bhp is pushing a PD150 turbo, never mind a PD130 KKK

As said, a PD130 KKK is out of puff by about 170bhp.

Fair comment . It was my leon cupra tdi that had a decat and map that produced 195 on the dyno. I forgot that ran the 150 turbo.
