Fabia VRS .... anygood

Featured Replies

Here will be a shocking newsflash then : the best one... will be none off them.

All is down to a matter off what you want.

If you want to adjust the ride-height to get it slammed or maybe even higher then stock (god forbid ;P).

If you want it to be stiff or soft.

If you want it for show or go.

For me, I was just after a solid kit that just worked properly.

It's abit harder, but it's not what you call a spine-killer (try one with stock shocks and lowering-springs).

I don't want to slam it, I have alot off speed-bumps in the area and I want to keep my splitter ;P.

It's alot better when handling and it's very good price-wise for the handling you get.

  • The fabia vRS is a very good car no problems with mine one engine/gearbox all good no oil usage The best colour well red looks very good on the estate white & blue looks good on the estate as we

  • My mum has a blue one with white wheels and roof we call it the "Smurf" I've just ordered a green one with black roof and wheels

Has anyone driven the hatch and estate back to back.

Is there much difference in the handling...

Yes i have driven a hatch & an estate back to back,

& driven a hatch and a hatch back to back.

Just the difference in tyres makes them feel different let alone a bit of difference between the body styles and feeling of space in the estate.

Then there is the difference just as from any car you are used to and another.

Best to go test each yourself because only you can tell what feels like what to you.

From what I remember of the hatch it feels the same as estate, maybe the estate is a bit more stable at speed because of the length but tyres make the biggest difference. Still feels as nimble as the hatch, I barely notice. Only know it's an estate when I go and reverse and I see I have no parcel shelf but a pull one

having followed Martyn on a "brisk" run, I can confirm that the estate certainly corners as well as the hatch ;)

I cna only recommend the Fabia vRS mk2!

Cheap on the gas, cheap to insure and cheaper then it siblings!

And colorwise? Green/black all the way!

Where did you get your front splitter from ?

They all look good - hence why I didn't specify a colour on mine (to aid with delivery).

Race Blue all over with standard silver wheels looks mighty fine to me  - well, I would say that! If I had to choose, it would probably be green/black roof...

Where did you get your front splitter from ?

Splitter comes from superskoda ;).

Aside from colour choice, all I'll say is I came from a twincharged Scirocco and aside from the handling being a bit better on the Scirocco (as it should be - its a hell of a lot wider), this is a better all rounder in my mind. Hellishly quick, surprisingly economical, a superb drive and blooming practical to boot (my estate can carry more stuff than my Jeep Cherokee, so thats going).

My wife really wasn't keen on me getting a Skoda of any flavour; she sat in one in the showroom and was OK about it. She drove mine and now wants one of her own...and she is notoriously fickle when it comes to cars.

From an ex-Octy vRS owner - "ah, good choice - you got a very Rapid S*1t"....now I know what it stands for!

I think for the money they aren't bad at all. When you think a remapped one is faster than a focus RS 0-100mph you can't really complain at performance. Especially when on a run I managed 56.6mpg door to door (cold start, etc) I could in hindsight of got higher, but haven't had the chance since to do this.

I have one that has a 'problem' which is oil use, but Skoda are being good at trying to fix it.

I've got the estate version, and for a small family car I think its great. If I end up keeping mine long term I'll be putting some decent coilovers on (something like Bilstein PSS9's), getting it remapped, adding a different intake, milltek turbo back exhaust and one of the uprated intercooler and radiator combo's. Would be looking at probably 240bhp then, decent handling, and still fair MPG as well as space for the dog in the boot. Happy days.
