:giggle: Until I (eventually!) got them fixed the car looked like a mobile sauna in cold wet weather - unfortunately it wasn't as much fun as being in a sauna.

Happy with my choice of green with black roof and black wheels. Great value with the 'VAT free' deal. Can't think of a same price hatchback I would rather have at the current time. DSG gearbox is fantastic and the car is enjoyable to drive whether commuting in traffic or on a dawn raid on traffic-free B roads. Petrol consumption is exceeding expectations. I do have high oil consumption but its within Skoda limits and will hopefully improve with a few more 1000 miles on the clock. Still see very few vRS Mk2's on the road which is fine by me.

have been offered green with black roof and black alloys, but sorry i cant see the "black wheel" thing they look dirty, delaership has said he can put normal ones on if i decide to go for it ....

There has been a lot of discussion about alloy colour choice on the forum and black remains popular. It's a personal thing but for me black is best, particularly on red, white or green cars with a black roof and black grill. Dark chrome alloys also good but can suffer corrosion problems. White alloys look great with the right colour combintion.

Any good ?

For less than 14k now - DSG - Paddles - 180bhp Twincharged - OK Mpg - Great build quality - Blah, blah, blah ......

The engine / box combo is simply amazing. When you consider it's less than 1400cc as well ! :o

Oh, forgot to add, the best colour is .......

I cna only recommend the Fabia vRS mk2!

Cheap on the gas, cheap to insure and cheaper then it siblings!

And colorwise? Green/black all the way!

I see you got the splitter

Wish I could do those rear lights the same on mine. The rear lights look a little cack standard :drunk:

I've had a few problems, but not any worse than other new cars I've had. BUT I love it! It's at the garage at the mo and I'm really missing being able to drive it and I'm always amazed how it puts a smile on my face whenever I plant my right foot. It is my favourite, by a long way, of all the cars I've had.

And I have to agree with some of the earlier posts, it's got to be red with a black roof and dark chrome alloys. But I'm a little biased there. The dealer has got a green with black wheels and a black roof and

everytiime I see it I do wish I'd been a little braver. It looks gorgeous.

As it was a decent day yesterday took the car on a 240-mile round trip (wanted to visit Riccarton Junction) - M74 down to Longtown, then across to Hawick via Newcastleton, and home via Galashiels, Peebles, and Carluke.

Covered just about every type of road - motorway, a-roads, and b-roads - the vRS is a fantastic all-rounder - relaxed sitting on the motorway with cruise control on, then it comes to life for b-road blasts - lovely noise when you floor it into the bargain. All this and I used just under half a tank of petrol - reckon average mpg would have been mid-40s.

As far as colours I had a white vrs with black roof and wheels I also have a red 2008 sport and must say I liked the white one best.

I didn't keep my vrs long because of the oil usage as i only do about 2.5k a year skoda wanted me to do about 10k as they said it my settle at this mileage but then I would have had no warranty left so couldn't take that change. I then got a 2010 mx5 now with 2.5k and you know what, now got a problem with the slip diff and mazda now trying to fob me off.

If I knew I would have no problems with a vrs (oil, Mis fire) I may be tempted to get another one. Don't like the shape from the front but for the money (new) nothing can match it. Been looking at a renault megane cup and a seat leon cupra R both around 16k.

It states it fits the RS??

the non modified one states that it fits but the other says mad els from 07-09 which is strange either way it does look pretty good, I'm quite tempted, springs first i think :giggle: but not to sure what to go with eibachs or H&R's?? any advice?

I meant the "modified" one.

That one are for pre-fl.

I'm using Weitec GT dampers + springs.

Costs abit more then just springs, but it rides soooo much better.

Just replacing the springs have a tendency to make cars bumpy ;).

Mine is back from the garage and I've a big grin back on my face. Just pulling out from the dealers and accelerating away reminded me why I bought it. Then I went for a spin around some quiet, twisty country lanes and started to grin.

True. My next step will be coilovers. Impending divorce ....

I'm going to be fitting eibachs firstly as the are an approved mod available from dealers and secondly they are progressive springs meaning on poor surfaces the ride isn't compromised but when pushed the car really tightens up.

Have fitted a set to my Evo 6 and I'm really impressed , cheap coilivers don't come close need to spend a couple of grand if you want to go the coilivers route

can they be ordered from skoda? will my warranty be protected?

yes shanners, its skoda approved, I went in to check prices, and to confirm it would be warrenty covered. think the springs are only 12 months warrenrty though.

cheers sharkrider I'm gonna have to check and get some prices i think

I didn't know this until after but if I'd have had springs fitted before I collected it then they would have been warrantied for 3 years too. I'm tempted to go this way too but it wasn't cheap for fitting too if I remeber right. It's £180 for the springs (they are slightly different on the estate too) then the rest labour which was around £350-£400 all in

That's expensive

If my mate did it I could have them fitted for about £50 or so but then I'd lose warranty. Not desperate for them tbh the car is fine. When the time comes and everyone comes to a conclusion on what's best tuning wise I'll go down the coilover route
