Coding lighting changes without long coding helper?

Featured Replies

Ok, I don't have a HEX+CAN lead with VCDS so I can't use this software to code lighting changes to my new vRS which I picked up Friday.

I can however program changes using our scan tool, unfortunately it uses the base 7 digit coder (see pics)

Does anyone know where I can find any information or know what digits to modify to get the following options in Controller 9 - Electronic Central Electrics.

I want to turn on cornering lights - I'm meant to this this but I don't have the option of a long coding helper?

  • Select Control Module - Cent Elec 09
  • With the controller open select coding 07
  • From this screen you'll need to select Long coding Helper
  • We have to change Byte 23, Bit 2 and Bit 3-4. Bit 2 simply requires a tick in the check box and Bit 3-4 is a drop down list where you should select 08 Turn Lights via Fog Lights

Heres the options I do have

Thanks

It's not using base 7, but only has 7 digits of coding. I would be worried that the current coding is 0000000. I suggest you get support from the manufacturer
