to fit a hid kit and solder the wires do i have to take the front bumper off to remove the headlights,i need to remove the headlights so i can do the job correctly,any advice would be great

You should have a black lever either side of the headlights, pull this and the headlight will come forward off the tray it sits on & then just disconnect the wiring loom attached to the rear of the light.

If you search the forum there is a step by step with pics showing how they remove.

If you have the micro ballast as has been discussed on here a few times, the whole lot fits inside the light unit and is totally plug and play apart from some recoding so you don't get error messages.

I also fitted my 55w slim ballasts inside the headlight as there is so much space. looks perfect with 5000k bulbs :-)
